She pads in barefoot and sits down cross legged on the floor next to him, sort of leaning against him. She knows he doesn't accept why or what she did, but she knows it's because he loves her and she hates that he's struggling with it.]

Uh...well, hitting them with a frying pan won't kill them. But it can knock them out if you hit them hard enough, enough times.

Apart from that, I just know the stuff I read in books, and it doesn't seem to apply from vampire to vampire.

Now there's a new weapon to try.

It's a big universe. Probably plenty of different kinds of vampire. There's plenty of near-humans, after all.

I think it differs from world to world. We have vampires where I'm from, but more often than not they turn out to be robots, or space aliens, or sometimes just crazy cultists.

That tends to be my experience, but it's a wide, wide universe. Aliens are usually a good bet, though.
