So your world doesn't have vampires, in any traditional definition of the word. Interesting.

My world hasn't a lot of things that most people seem to find quite common--ghosts, vampires, demons, spirits, magical powers, &c. All we have in my world are wicked but mortal men, charlatans, smoke, mirrors, and a desire in most people to be deceived.

That's common in all worlds, really. More common than the supernatural.
