[ there's a pause. simon's frowning, and walking very quickly down the street. he looks somewhere between embarassed and irritated. all this advice is coming at an awkward point in time for him. ]

Why is everyone trying to talk to me about sex?

[ Pancake the corgi is absolutely excited because NEW PERSON and attempting to both sniff Simon and run around all at once. The cats are, well... cats, and Waffle the bird is sitting nearby making kissing noises. ]

[ so many animals. this is actually kind of nice. ]

Are these all your pets?

We should.

[ Getting some out and putting the kettle on now. ]

The dog belongs to one of my roommates and the large cat belongs to another one of them. The kitten and the bird are mine, though.

[ Pause. ]

I'm Ariadne, by the way.

[ stepping over pancake to offer her a handshake. because that's what you do in these situatios, right? ]

[ Shaking that hand. ]

Are you new to the City, or...?

I was here before. For a few days.

[ the briefest of visits. ]

I had an apartment. With my friend Seth.

[boutant]

Seth? I think I talked to him. He has a neck tattoo, right?

Yes. It's of a dragon.

I couldn't really tell. He had an iguana on his shoulder.

That's definitely him. He has an iguana.

[ animals everywhere. ]

I'd take you there, but I don't actually know where he lives.

[ Oh, and the tea is ready. Going to get that. ]

I'll ask him for the address. Or something.

[ oh there's tea. simon gets up, because you can't drink tea while sitting on the floor, that's just uncouth. ]

That won't really help if you don't know the way around though, will it?

[ She'll hand him a cup. ]

[ LOST FOREVER oh tea guess it's not all bad. ]

[ Tea and a kitten! Yay! ]

Thanks. Our old apartment sort of caught on fire shortly after I got here, but we needed more room anyway.

No one was hurt, were they?

No, luckily we were all out. The fat cat there, Rhada, she slipped outside and her owner went after her. The stove got left on and the rest was history.
