[Andy hasn’t done much with himself since he’s come to the City. He hasn’t done much with himself back at home either, for that matter, but maybe it’s time to change that.

He’s never been the ambitious sort, never really thought he’d amount to anything and was fairly content with that thought; he had everything he wanted: his videogames, a good place to crash, a friend. Sometimes that’s all you needed, but then there are times where you need more.

The thought had hit him earlier in that week -- no one knows him, not really, and that was okay because he could now be anything that he wanted. He didn’t have to be Andrew Bergman, college drop-out and gas station attendant. He could be the Jersey Devil, fighter of crime and defender of the weak and downtrodden, so why the hell not?

The costume had come through with him; it had been in his backpack and Andy dons it for tonight. Though looking absolutely ridiculous in the purple, homemade trainwreck, he feels strong, valiant, and on top of the world.]



[The video feed clicks on and there is a masked man smiling goofily into the camera.]

Good evening, citizens of the... er, City! It is I, the Jersey Devil, and I have revealed myself to you tonight to let you know that you should never fear! I will be here, watching over you and the rest of the City, keeping evil doers at bay.

[Which, really, the Jersey Devil hasn’t seen any evil doers yet, but one never knew when they’d pop up!]

Should you need me, just call my name and I will be there to defend you!

[And with that, there is a dramatic cape whoosh of his cape and JD is off to stop crime, or at least attempt to. The camera feed clicks off.

However, later in the night, Andy will shapeshift into his Jersey Devil form, the actual monster, to stretch his legs and get a better look at things from topside of the city. It’s about damn time.]

((ooc: Andy will be around in either costume or JD form, you get to pick which you’d like to encounter! It’s like a choose your own adventure. Andy will mostly be running around doing shenanigans and thinking that he’s all that until he gets bored. Monster icons will be from the account didthemash))

That's true. [ A beat. ] So you're a crime fighter?

[didthemash]

Yes! The Jersey Devil. [Points to the big, hand sewn JD on the chest of his spandex.] Super powers and everything.

[debrief]

What kind of powers?

I'll just... It's easier if I show you.

[Really, he's just tired of explaining it and kind of wants to show off.]

One sec.

[He sets the camera up on a nearby trashcan and then, yay, shapeshifting!]

[Within seconds, there is a rather large, horse-like creature standing in the alleyway in which Andy was hanging out in.

It moves its head in front of the camera and grins toothily, letting out a small whiny.

Impressive: y/n?]

[debrief]

[ y, but not as impressive as the Hulk. Sorry. ]

I see where you get the name.

[didthemash]

[Looking like a monster pony only gets you so far.

Aaand, the creature shrinks back down and becomes gangly Andy once again.]

It fits!

[debrief]

[ Still masked, I assume? ]

That it does. So how did you get into crime fighting?

[keepinitsaucy]

[Masked and costumed!]

Found out I could do that, figured it would be a good idea. What else was I going to do?

[debrief]

Some people, when faced with powers greater than that of others, decide robbing a bank or getting revenge is a good idea.

[ A pause. ] Fighting crime seems better.

[keepinitsaucy]

Yeah, I'm not the bank robbing type. Punching bank robbers, yes, robbing banks, no.

We've got our fair share of those guys, so I figure being a good type helps to even things out.

[debrief]

Good thinking.

[ A beat. ] If you run into anything suspicious, mind letting me know?

[keepinitsaucy]

[Blinks.] Um, yeah. Sure. Are you also..?

[debrief]

I just like to stay informed.

[keepinitsaucy]

Alright. As long as you know what you're doing, I guess.

[debrief]
