[He's going to stop and stare for a moment. Oh this place is really beginning to agitate him now. Forget your game of chance boy. Loki is interested in who you are. He waves a dismissive hand at the idea of playing a silly card game. Especially when he can see the set up is meant to trick anyone who would dare bet.]

No, thank you lad. I have little use such diversions right now.

Ah, a focused sort. Probably wondering why you are here and how to leave, yes? [A faint little smile.] [He's just got the faintest sense of something odd. Not dangerous, but, odd.]

That would be the gist of it, yes. [He speaks dryly, though the boy's appearance slightly unnerves him. The kid is familiar, a little too familiar. However only curiosity shows on his face.]

Well. For you? I will let you have the information for free. [He leans forward slightly, dropping his voice dramatically] You are in The City and like the Hotel California- you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

[He finds himself caught between amused and bemused. The Hotel California reference means nothing to him, but he gets the impression that is meant partly as a joke to mask some of the blow of the truth.

Though in the end, he ends up scrutinizing the boy further.]

...I see. And who might you be, lad?

Serrure, King of Thieves- it's a working title. [And he actually sketches a faint bow, as though accepting accolades on a job well done. The movement carries true, practiced and ingrained, not at all false.]

[And then he was officially amused.]

Oh King of Thieves. A rather weighty title to live up too.

[That is what he's good at. And inclines his head with a knowing smile.]

I know. But what is life without a challenge? I have offered you a name, now what is yours?

[He eyes the boy still quite amused before his demeanor concedes that he ought to introduce himself.]

True enough. I am Loki. [And he's going to leave it at that. Because he hasn't decided if he still wishes to remain Odinson and he damn sure isn't calling himself Laufeyson.]

[And for one moment he's just standing there all smiles, then the name sinks in and he's pursing his mouth. He's mentally ticking through all the choices he has- running? That one's good. Attempting to prostrate himself so he won't get killed? No. Never. Besides, he hasn't really been threatening. Feigning cool nonchalance? Challenge accepted.]

Huh. Well, it is my pleasure to meet you, of course- assuming you aren't back from the dead to kill us all. I'm also a big fan, truly, ah- of the magic and intelligence stuff, not so much the- well, let's not mention unpleasant things. Why, Thor and Sif, and a strange little girl named Leah, but she doesn't count, have mistaken me for you. Very flattering. If only I can grow up as well proportioned as you are. Emphasis on grow up.
