[ There's a man sitting in the ground by the fountain, his back against it: middle aged, in a suit, a badge pinned to his chest, and a very big gun in his lap.

He's also not moving and there's blood in the corner of his mouth, on his shoulder.

His eyes focus for a moment, and he manages a look of mild surprise. ] Boss? — [ a wet cough ] Does any S.H.I.E.L.D agent —?

[ Another breath, laboured, and he stills again. ]



[ ooc; Say hi to Agent Coulson. Replies will come after Bones and Roxas are done with him, all right? All right.

Something like that, yes. [ If he's handed a cover story, he may as well stick to it. It isn't as though he's planning on telling anyone that he was stabbed with a glowing magic spear by an alien demi-god. ]

[There are dragons and unicorns at the zoo, alien demi-gods are totally believable.

But he gives a bit of a knowing smug, he'll allow you to borrow his story.] Always something like that. You ought to stay away from the zoo. They have unicorns. Very sharp. Very pointy.

Thank you for the warning. [ He's been stabbed enough for a while. Or a lifetime.

Very welcome. [Should he see you on the street, he might even give you reprieve from attempting to steal from you. The first time.]

[ That would be very much appreciated. He might let you get away with stealing something, then, the second time. Maybe.

Yes it is, Phil. [And there's that charming smile, like an orphan from a Dickens novel. At least this is the kid sized version.]

[debrief]

[ Well. The smile is pretty charming. Phil knows appareances can be deceiving, of course, but the kid looks nice enough. ]

Have you been here long?

[doeswhathewants]

Couple of days, not over long.

Though I do not intend to stay for long, one way or another. Never grow complacent with this place, Phil. I can see the acceptance in the eyes of some of the people here.

[debrief]

I'll take it into consideration. How do you plan on getting out?

I am told that deities are keeping us here. I intend to find their temple, steal something invaluable to them then ransom my way home. Not exactly self sacrificing to help my fellow man, but the heroes of our story are apparently stuck, too.

So I think that qualifies as an every man for himself type situation.

[debrief]

And who are the heores of this story?

The Avengers. They're here, you know. [Says as though letting you in on a secret] Too bad they seem to be stuck. Perhaps America ought to have sent the X-men.

[debrief]

What do you know about the Avengers?

[debrief]

No? [ God knows Phil is. But what's more important is finding out how this boy knows about them, and what. ]

I just said no, did I not? Why, are you? [He thinks you probably have a shrine in your living room.]

[debrief]

[ Inaccurate. He hides it better than that.

Still, it's easier to use this as a cover to hopefully find out more than it is to state outright what his involvement with them is. ] I might be.

You are awfully cagey, especially for an adult. Not the type that lures kids in with your 1:1 replica Mjolnir, are you? [Tips his head]

Can't blame a man for not wanting to admit he used to sleep in Captain America pyjamas.

[A snort of actual laughter] The kind with feet?

Captain America is your favorite, I would guess. Iron Man is mine, intelligence and the application bests strength any day. When I am fabulously wealthy, perhaps I shall find a way to create my own and go to other worlds. Take over native populations and become an intergalactic emperor.

[debrief]

I confess to no such thing.

Well, now I feel old. Iron Man didn't even exist when I was your age.

Well. You are old. [An arching of an eyebrow.]
