Now this is remarkable. I've been made to understand that this is a regular event around here, this sudden seemingly free influx of unexpected visitors. One with a limited timespan as well, from my understanding. Which means it is vital to make the most of this research opportunity while it's presented itself.

Certainly somewhere there must be some indication as to the manner of the connection between this dimension and others - more apparent now than typically - and how it has been possible for those of us whose stays here are somewhat less transitory to find ourselves achieving transdimensional passage to begin with...

[And his voice trails off as he gets distracted by planning his research. The connection goes quiet for a few moments before it cuts off.]

Really? Do you happen to know when time travel became widely accepted? In your reality, at least. I wouldn't make any assumptions that our realities are the same, despite any apparent similarity.

Your thoughts are exactly mine, though. The precision with which people are removed and returned from their own respective timelines indicates a degree of control that simply cannot be a matter of natural phenomena. However, understanding the means through which this control is obtained could provide a deeper understanding of the nature of dimensional barriers regardless.

It was still treated with skepticism until the early twenty-third century, by the Vulcans particularly. It isn't common when I am from, but we know it is possible and temporal physicists are taken as seriously as anyone else. You have some time to wait unless your reality is very different.

Yes! The precision here defies natural explanation! Do you know much about the deities? Would they have the knowledge to manipulate these barriers, or are there other beings more knowledgeable than they are?

Oh, yes, I imagine I will. That's quite all right, though, there are certain advancements that simply wouldn't be wise to make too available. Not with the potential destruction that could be reaped by those who may not fully understand its implications.

I'm afraid I can't say that I know much. I've been here for about a month, myself, and a good deal of that time has been invested into repairing the vehicle in which I entered this dimension - not intentionally, unfortunately. I haven't dedicated nearly as much time to research as I'd like.

This is true. There are some restrictions on actions that may be taken when traveling in time where I am from, but not many; this should change, I hope, before temporal displacement becomes more common, or it should not become common at all.

You have a vehicle here? One that allows you to enter other dimensions? [Excited? Yes.]

Certainly. Any travel through time should be done merely in an observational role, through which to gain deeper insight and understanding. Save, of course, for any efforts that must be made to set things right after interference by others in the timeline.

[WELL.] Oh- ah, well, not exactly. It's certainly not designed to cross dimensional barriers, but I suspect that an overload caused by a lightning strike may have caused the event.

I am not so sure about fixing things that others have done. Time is too complex and too poorly understood.

What is it designed for? Not simple flying, surely?

Well. It can be necessary, in... very specific, controlled circumstances, to undo deliberate changes made via time travel by unscrupulous individuals. Though, frankly, I'm currently of the belief that it's simply too much power for any one individual to wield.

Perhaps it's the just sort of thing that needs to be left to best judgement in any specific circumstances.

Among other things! I'm foremost an inventor, but I do appreciate and study all sciences.
