018 - These Are The Lives You'd Love To Lead - Video/Action

[There is a vampire leaning by The Raven's entrance. His posture is like a snake's. Nothing stirring but a glint in the eye and a flicking tongue-tip. All gathered bloodlust waiting for its moment.]

The next brat to sneak in, will be summarily tossed out.

In pieces.

[A smile. Bright, and entirely without warmth.]

Don't try it. And keep your pitiful bribes to yourself.

[OOC: Grrr. Noisy whippersnappers! NO DRINKS FOR YOU! By which I mean, anyone's totally free to come waltzing in - and stir up trouble. Just keep in mind, Karl may toss you out. His fondness for ~~eating~~ teenage girls notwithstanding, he has work to do, after all! Replies will be sporadic, as my internet is being a bitch!]

[Helping him stand upright, running from an angry vampire and having to listen to stupid logic. What is your life, Kira.]

[Opening that one door that leads to the room where they definitely aren't wanted. Closing the door behind them. Locking, too.]

How's that? [The stupid logic is partially your own fault, the angry vampire you had to know would happen is also your fault, and...well, the other part only happened because you helped a minor sneak in a bar. Kira? Your life sucks, but you made it that way.]

...I hope no one else is in here. It's kinda dark. Uh, hope you're not doing something fun.

You've gotta be kidding me. What do you dream at night?

[Yeah, that's Kira's palm connecting with Setsuna's head.]

[He actually makes a little sound to that, even if it's not hard. He's drunk...what do you expect?]

Senpai.... Dream at night? What does that have to do with it? I dream about a lot of things, though. Like this garden, with a lot of birds and animals in it.

[Karl weaves through the crowded corridors, on alert for Setsuna's aura - and snatches of both his and Kira's scent. The alcohol and perfume in the air makes the latter difficult - but not impossible.]

[Eyes narrowed, he follows it toward the VIP lounge. It's dark in here, the only light coming from underlit sconces. The stagnant air smells of beer and blood. Chaises, tucked against the walls, are mostly occupied by shadowed couples, hugged secretively together.]

[But his senses are immediately pinged by Setsuna's aura. Reaching for a closed door, he raps sharp knuckles against it.]

Anyone in there?

[Since he can predict certain things - like Setsuna's inability to keep quiet - Kira pulls his friend in front of him and covers his mouth with his hand.]

[Good thing, too, because Setsuna was about to answer, 'No! Try the next room over!' but now only muffled sounds come from behind Kira's hand, while Setsuna looks back at him with wide eyes.]

[He already knows Setsuna's cursed. But clearly, Kira is too. That's the only reason he'd pull off such a juvenile stunt. Concentrating over the thumping music, Karl hears the dull pitter-patter of two heartbeats on the other side of the door.]

[Found you.]

[Drawing a keycard from his pocket, he slides it into a slot beside the door. A light burns green. Glowering, Karl shoves the door open.]

Enough games.

Come out.

[Well, he's not surprised they've been discovered, given what Karl seems to be, but it wasn't his idea to go into the wrong direction.]

He's not ready to come out of the closet.

[Guess who's stepping back to stomp on your foot, Kira?]

Me? I like girls! If anyone's in the closet, it's you! Putting your hands all over me!

[God. You kids. He's just going to - lineface at you. Behind him, there are several vampires' watching the scene from their couches. Eyes twinkling red and yellow, like fireflies in the gloaming.]

If it's a room you two are after, you're in the wrong place. Try Oh Aces for that.

[Scowling, he grabs both Kira and Setsuna by the arms.]

As it is - you're trespassing.

Oh yeah? What girl do you like?

[Helloooo, Vampires. Yes, Kira does want to get out. And he doesn't let go of Setsuna, even when they are both grabbed.]

Must've taken a wrong turn, sorry, man.

[Now that Kira asks, Setsuna's mind practically shuts down.] I like looking at them naked.... But.... You know, I don't think I like anyone like that.

[A pause.] But I can't be gay. [Nearly misses Karl's rant, waving a hand at him.] Yeah, yeah. This is more important, weirdo.

[The vampires enjoy the scene. Murmuring, whispering, hissing. Meanwhile, Karl yanks both boys out of the room. They're far too nonchalant about having snuck into a venue full of vampires. If he didn't work here, he'd just let them get eaten. Join in. One stupid turn deserves another.]

[To Setsuna, he snaps:] Save the touching journey of your sexuality for those who care to hear it. [And to Kira:] You'd be sorrier if the VIP room was occupied.

[Not all patrons tolerated interruptions. This area was off-limits for a reason. On that note - ]

[Glancing at the spectating vampires, Karl flashed a grin.]

If anyone sees these brats here again - eat them. It's on the house.

[The remark gets a few laughs. And more bared fangs, like licks of phosphorescence in the dark.]

[He doesn't underestimate the danger, much, but he has no plans of returning here, anyway. So he just focuses on Setsuna.]

Probably just haven't met the right one yet. We can go looking some time if you want. You can try some of mine.

[He has so much tact. Paying some attention to the vampires, too, now.]

I wouldn't eat him, he tastes horrible.

[He seems to grimace at Karl now, but still really doesn't care. Too drunk, too occupied.]

You really are grouchy! Lem'me go. I wasn't gonna come back anyway.

And how do you know what I taste like? You don't nibble on me when I'm asleep, do you?!

I don't want your seconds. I'm not interested in 'em.

[In a crowded bar of predators, these two are discussing girl-problems. And Karl thought he was insane. He can't wait for this damned curse to end. He loathes it already.]

Keep that up and you'll both be leftovers.

[Rotton teenagers. Grasping their arms, he yanks them through the crowded pathway, curious vampires snickering and peering after. He has half a mind to make good his initial threat. To toss them out in pieces. They certainly deserve it.]

[Setsuna's drunk and an idiot, Kira is sober and mostly keeping up with the ridiculous blather to not let anyone focus too much on Setsuna. Or him, for that matter. Just two human boys.]

Don't worry, we were just about to leave, anyway.

Let go of my arm! [He insists again, seeing as Karl still hasn't, and he can't seem to take it out of Karl's grasp, either. He's led along, whether he wants to be or not.]

And yeah, I dun wanna be here anyway. It's boring!

[Kira's plan to deflect attention off Setsuna or himself is probably the best option. Especially in a place like The Raven, with clientele dubious enough to make Karl raise an eyebrow. Still gripping the boys' arms, he steers them toward the exit, not caring if Setsuna struggles or protests.]

If it's 'boring', then you shouldn't have snuck in. What were you expecting? A rain of money? Private lap-dances?

[Ugh. What a bothersome night!]

[Yeah, Setsuna, he's so not letting go of you as long as Karl is holding on, sorry. He's just glad they're just about outside.]

Youths of today and their unrealistic expectations...

[Yanking on Setsuna now to get Karl to let go of him, he can walk on the street by himself, thank you very much.]

[He's just being yanked all over the place, and drunk as he is, Setsuna can't quite get his balance to prevent a little stumbling in the process.]

I didn't know it was going to be boring! If you had just said it was from the beginning, I'd never have come here!

[Once the boys are outside, Karl releases his deathgrip on them. Beyond The Raven's threshold, they aren't his problem. His eyes are narrowed and his words are clipped.]

Yes. Youths of today. And their inability to think.

[A scowl.]

I'm glad it was boring. Now go annoy someone else.

[Half-turning, he rubs his temples. God. He needs a drink.]

That's just him, really. He's special.

[He's not releasing Setsuna, he's pulling him a bit closer. And behind himself. Yes.]

Bye-bye, grumpy-san.

[Like being hidden? That's what Setsuna thinks when he's behind Kira, at least. He does at least poke out around Kira's back to wave at Karl, though.]
