Before you ask, as someone always does: I would have announced auditions this weekend, for the play, but I think under the circumstances it might be better to hold off until things are back to normal. I love when everyone comes to visit, but it does make it difficult to get work done! And I don't know that the announcement would be as widely noticed today.

Besides, I'm not sure I could concentrate; I'd much rather just visit with everyone.

Well, it's a comedy-- in the Shakespearean sense-- that takes place in the City. My roommate wrote it.

But, if you arrived today-- I'm not sure you'll be staying. Most people don't, I'm afraid, which is too bad because we don't have many professional actors.

[The real trouble with taking on the charge of tailing his family members for the duration of this curse is that for some reason, this go around, there are just so darn many of them about. Normally he'd simply antagonize his father a little and spy on his mother a bit, and that would be that (and how terribly strange is it, to see her so young? His father's youth, he's used to, thanks to some awkward temporal shenanigans, but seeing Mother at his age, well, that's something else). But this time there's an influx, and that makes it that much harder to keep up.

He chooses this particular bookshop for a few reasons: it's quaint, it's close, and there's something about it that nags at him, something he can't quite explain. There's magic here somewhere; he knows that much.

And so he ducks inside, hat in hand and cane hooked over his elbow, silently surveying the shelves through his very blue eyes.]

[The idea that there might be magic in the store would surprise Neil... for about a minute. Probably it's just a side effect of Billy working there, or maybe it has something to do with the spotlessly empty back room (now pressed into service as normal storage, but still.) But whatever it might be, it's decidedly beyond his understanding.

Days like today make it hard to concentrate on work-- he'd much rather be catching up with old friends, or making new ones. Which is why he's scrolling through the Network on his device, and doesn't notice right away that someone's come in.

But notice he does, squinting a bit in the dimness. Bilton and Scaggs has never been well-lit; the original proprietor meant to discourage business, and Neil just doesn't know a thing about electrical wiring.]
