017 - Sour Wine Is Sweeter On Your Lips - Video/Forward-Dated To The Curse Night

[The video flicks on to whipping wind and glittering cityscape. Karl sits perched on a roof parapet, his head silhouetted against a half-moon. His teeth are white and sharp and his eyes are blood-red.]

This is a rather amusing curse. Well, passably so. I haven't allowed my standards to sink that low yet.

[A dark chuckle.]

Chimeras. Bogeymen. And everyone crying and cowering, like pathetic children. It's entertaining enough to make me want to join the party~

...

I wonder if she's out there tonight. Surely I've given her a delightful nightmare or two~

[Laughing, Karl vanishes from his spot in a blur. The feed snaps shut.]

[OOC: Have a monster? He will kill. Just for the lulz. Give a vampire something to do, City! ^^b]

[Normally, Kira couldn't have done much about Setsuna and Karl doing whatever it is they are doing high up in the sky. Today issn't normal, however.

Wings, black as darkness, carry him up to their level and the expression on his face is even darker than those magnificent wings.]

What do you think you're doing?

[There's also a sword in his hand. And a lot of determination on his face. Talk about a Angel of Vengeance.]

[He's not so preoccupied that he doesn't catch the dark presence in the vicinity. In this form, his senses are amplified, after all. Nonetheless, Karl takes his time meeting Kira's glare. And another leisurely moment to remove his hands from Setsuna's person.]

His face and torso are in human form. However, the scaly wings adhere to his arms. His grin is white and crooked.]

[Finally left alone, Setsuna curls on his side, laughter dying down while his tears dry. He looks up at Kira, then gets alarmed.]

Senpai! He was just tickling me!

[At least he's aware he's being a spoilsport. Also, Setsuna, say hello to the possessive streak, currently showing in form of a hand around his wrist that tugs him closer.]

Nice wings, fly.

You'd think we'd been caught in flagrante delicto.

[He watches Kira tug Setsuna away. Grin widening. Territorial, much? Of course, had Diva or Saya been reincarnated into someone else's form, Karl imagines he'd be too.]

They have their uses.

[Preening said wings like a demon from a Bosch painting.]

In what? [Puzzled look. And he's a bit surprised at the possessiveness, yes. Kira's usually not displayed it right in front of Setsuna before.]

Senpai, I'm fine. Though I'm kinda glad you stopped him.... My sides hurt. [Sticks his tongue out at Karl.]

If I had, you would regret it.

[Yeah, he understands. Such a well educated student.]

[He's seen all kinds of creatures, he's ruled all kinds of creatures, Karl isn't exactly impressing him here.]

[It can be assumed that this is spoken to either of them.]

[Lies. Karl would ravage anything with a pulse.]

It was Setsuna who wished to 'keep an eye' on me. I was merely entertaining him for his troubles.

[By which he means, tickling the poor boy to tears.]

[Setsuna's not sure he even wants to know, now....]

[Then he turns to Kira.] He's my friend, Senpai. I'm gonna spend time with him. I know you don't like it, but I didn't tell him anything, so there's nothing to worry about anymore.

I don't see how you touching him factors into that.

[He's so very not impressed. Not when he looks at Setsuna, either.]

[And back to raising an eyebrow at Karl.]

[Setsuna actually rips his wrist out of Kira's hand for that one and pulls away.]

I have not! There's plenty more I could've told him, and I didn't! You can't even give me credit for that, or the fact I'm not the one that started telling him things. [Kinda hurt here. And stupidly running his mouth.... Just saying that tells Karl there's more to learn, after all. He's just gonna stay out of their other conversation. That's between them.]

Excellent work, Setsuna, you didn't tell him everything, you just told him that there is more to be told.

[His voice is so very dry. But he does reach out for Setsuna's wrist again, hoping to somehow convey the message that they shouldn't be fighting in front of someone else.]

[See? There's credit. And then he turns to Karl.]

[He arches a brow at Setsuna's outburst. The moment resonates with so many incidents in Karl's history. All his elder brothers, giving him hell for disrupting plans with his rashness.]

Hm. All right.

Are you truly Lucifer?

[Setsuna is pretty rash. He looks well chastised after Kira's words, though, blushing in shame and turning away a bit. He bites his bottom lip, as though afraid to say anything else, and lets Kira take his wrist back without complaint.]

[There we go. Kira runs his thumb once along the inside of Setsuna's wrist, an attempt at reassurance.]

You're asking a question to which you'd not just believe my answer, no matter what it is, so why should I bother with replying?

[And that's how it's done.]

[Karl straightens from his half-kneeling position on the floor. Shrugging his wings, as if in preparation to fly - or attack.]

Anyway. I'm usually quite a skeptic. But in this case, I do believe you. This City's a strange place.

[Head tilting. Eyes bright and catlike.]

The only thing I don't understand is: How it got its hands a creature like you.

[If these Deities had captured Lucifer himself, what more were they capable of?]

[Well, Karl, they were also capable of a six-winged angel, which in Setsuna's world, meant he had the power equal to God. Or at least Adam Kadamon. But he's not talking. If he felt Kira's rubbing, he doesn't show it, just looks abashed still. He still can't keep his mouth shut properly.

[That is, until Karl's stance changes. Then Setsuna seems a little more lively, immediately ready to get between him and Kira in a heartbeat. He would draw the sword, but Kira needs to let go first.]

[There was definitely no need for Karl to know about the level of Setsuna's power and Kira was most certainly not the one tell him. Still, he's not overly intimidated by Karl, even knowing that he's stronger than him. He's got the power of God on his side, after all.]

The City's good at playing fetch, I think. But to answer your question, Sakuya Kira is all I am right now.

[He notes how Setsuna's posture changes. Protective, almost. Curious, that a cherub should hold the Devil in such regard. But Karl's seen stranger alliances. Both in the City, and back home.]

We're all at its mercy. Even the Dark Prince himself, it seems.

[His senses tingle at all the energy - the power - infusing the air. But it isn't all from Kira. The source-material is - the Cherub. Karl's smirk deepens. Well well. Who'd think that little boy would hold such potential?]

[That posture stays, Setsuna watching and observing them carefully, in a way he usually doesn't. His careless nature set aside. If Karl makes one sudden move, that's all it will take.]

Yeah, and it's kinda stupid. I just want to return home. But if I gotta be here, I want to enjoy the time I've got with people, not stand here on a roof in a fight with people I actually like. Got it?

[It's likely just about all from Setsuna. Kira's just about a normal human, even though he's currently sporting wings. Nothing of the aura he'd have if he were Lucifer.]

[So turning away from Karl for that smile at Setsuna.]

[Were it a real showdown, Karl wouldn't waste time on chit-chat. He and the angel would be bouncing each other off the buildings, all-out. Who, he wonders, would be the victor? The energy vibrating off Setsuna is enough to put Saya or Diva's rampages to shame.]

[Or, from most angles, a Lover's Quarrel.]

[Let Karl think some of that energy is coming from Kira. He doesn't mind in the slightest to be underestimated. It's an advantage. Besides, here, he's capped some, and he knows it. Even now he feels it.

[He blushes at Kira's words, though.]

Wh-what? What do that have to do with it? I like fighting and all, but.... [Flustered. Speaking is a little hard.]

I think it was Kira that intruded, wasn't it? [Don't even say that out loud, Karl.]

[It might have been his plan to get Karl to leave. Just a tad.]
