[Dawn has been busy today. She's picked up Tony's dry cleaning, ordered coffee and donuts delivered to each City Solutions department with a little note that reads 'Have a good day. -Dawn Summers'. She's moving from department to department in the City Solutions building checking on projects and progress just to see where everyone is at this point and what supplies need to be ordered. Yep, she's working through her to-do list and feeling very productive. Now if she could just find the time to get her own things done too.

The audio feature comes onto the network with a Dawn voice behind it.]

Just a reminder to the City populace that City Solutions is always looking for new employees. If your specialty is in robotics, weapons, programming, medical engineering, physics, chemistry and other cool things like that, let's have a chat. We also supply funding and necessary electronics, should they be needed, to up and coming businesses in the City that need a little help getting off the ground. So if that's your thing too, let me know.

I'm thinking about trying to cook something that isn't dessert for dinner tonight. So I'll be stopping by the store on the way home. Anything we need slash want slash desire slash have to have? I'll add it to the list!

[Wine is good and what Dawn cooked smells pretty good. Buffy is sitting at the table with a glass of wine, fiddling with her lasagna but she's smiling and laughing and having fun.]

This was a good idea, Dawnie.

[Dawn is walking around the table filling wineglasses with wine for the occasion. Even if no one likes what she cooked, the house smells all yummy like an Italian restaurant, so there's that at least.]

Thanks. I think the last time we sat down at the table to a meal was when Mom was still around. I just got a craving for it, you know? Or... less craving and more hankering. I like saying the word hankering.

This is me being all initiative girl, minus the army part and more with the definition of the word. Which really makes me think the army Initiative should have been called Experiment... ive.

[She sits down at the table and pours her own glass of wine before putting the bottle down.]

Well Mom would be proud with the dinner and the initiative.

[Buffy wrinkles her nose at the mention of the initiative.]

The kind of experimentive they were being was very much of the bad. We should have gotten PETA involved.

Why do we only think of all the brilliant things in hindsight? PETA would have been all over that. And we know that for a fact now what with how the world has embraced Harmony's reality show.

[A thoughtful pause.] I should have my own reality show.

I think we were still firmly stuck with Giles' plan of hush hush and public panic. That sort of thing.

[Such a doubtful look here.] As long as you don't start dressing like Anna Nicole Smith's trashy little sister and flashing everyone.

Please, I have so much more class than that. Mom raised us well. Or she raised you well and I have you to emmulate. So no trash-flashing.

[She turns hopeful and nods at Buffy's plate.] How is it?

Good. Trash flashing is very Spring Break 1999.

[Buffy takes another bite and chews then swallows before speaking.]

It's good. maybe less salt next time but it's really good.

[Dawn beams with pride. Yes, she takes this as meaning she just made the best meal ever. She hears things in her own way in her own little world.]

I totally did awesome, didn't I? It's like our very own Italian restaurant except at home. Think I'll keep trying new recipes every now and then.

[Buffy expected something of the sort honestly.]

We need a wok so we can try Chinese. I'll slice and dice the veggies and you can wok it.

Okay but what's a wok?

[What? She's new to this actual cooking thing.]

I think it's a Chinese cooking thing? [Clearly there's some doubt here.] Maybe...a Chinese hat?

Well I'm gonna get all research-y about it and get one so I can do wok-type things in the kitchen. Which sounds kinky when said that way but...

[She finally takes a bite of her own lasagna and chews, nodding her approval. She likes things super sweet or super salty. Thus, she likes the salty lasagna.]

mmm yummy goodness.

I'm pro non-kinky wok-type things that result in delcious yum.

You just want other people to cook who are not you. [She pauses and grins.] Actually I think we all want that cause I've seen you in a kitchen before, aside from PB&J.

[Buffy smirks but she can't argue. It's true.]

Burning down the house is discouraged apparently.

Hey, you said it not me. Plus there aren't any insurance company's here to collect insurance from if we burned it down. We'd just have to hire a contractor to rebuild.

[Which kind of makes her sad because... Xander.]

[It makes her a bit sad as well because...Xander. She smiles a bit at Dawn and nods.]

Guess we better keep me out of the kitchen and get you a chef's hat.
