014 - And Etcetera And Etcetera - Video
[The feed snaps on to a shot of Karl. He looks perfectly neat and well-dressed. Sane, even. But his left eyebrow keeps twitching. Pursing his lips, he tosses his hair back from his eyes, and opens his mouth. Anyone who knows Karl expects him to break into a spiteful rant about 'Puny Humans' or 'The Worthless City'. Perhaps a charming comment about blood, entrails, dead babies, and the joys therein.]
[Instead, what emerges is:]
AY, YO - WHAT THE FUCK'S WRONG WIT' CHOO, CITY? Don' be tryin' no bubble-poppin'; you bitches gon' be balled up! Ya gots 'til midnight to set me straight, and I'ma low it. Else I'ma put that smack-a-lackin' on ya. We straight thug nasty. We ain't taking shit from nobody, ya' mean?
...
[Pause. Blink. Scowl. His left eyebrow twitches worse.]
Bravo, City.
How am I supposed to conduct any business, if even I don't understand what I'm saying? Unless there are translators who understand this gibberish.
[Reaching to shut off the device.]
If there are any, I demand your services for today. Until then - peace out, yo. Keep it trill.
[And he nearly brings up two fingers to make deuces, before catching himself with a smothered growl. Wow. Look at his eyebrow twitch. Muttering between gritted teeth, Karl snaps the device shut. Translators, feel free to get in touch!]
[OOC; Hit with Lost in Translation, Karl is cursed to spit disses like a Gangsta. (Or maybe a Wanksta?) He has no clue what half the words spilling out of his mouth mean. And it's weirding the eff out of him. Help a vampire out, City! :|b]

It's a curse!
text; or...
You... honestly cannot stop it? You are talking to me normally now. Why not... keep... talking that way?

[WINCE. WTF DID HE EVEN SAY?]
It's volatile. It comes and goes, without warning.
[MAKE IT STOOOOP!]
voice;
Is your affliction as temporary as they were?

Re: voice; 2/2
[Throat-clearing.]
My condolences, newcomer. And yes, the recent 'Labyrinth' and its entourage of creatures were indeed part of a curse.
Let's hope this doesn't last beyond midnight.
voice; (So sorry! Got caught up in a few things. I am happy to backtag forever tho. :3)
So... these curses, they are not always a, hrn, daily affair?
How long could they last if they are more than a day?
It's okay! c: Backtagging is awesome! <33
The last catastrophic curse dragged on for about a week. The entire City was split into glass and sand.
[It was enjoyable, at first. Stalking and preying on lost and hapless humans. Then it quickly grew tedious.]
<33!
Glass and sand. [
Metal geeeearrrr]Describe this.

I'm sure others will gladly impart information.
At the moment, I'm suffering from a speech impediment.
voice;
I can hear that.
... You don't want to humor a... [chuckle] ... new neighbor about how this... glass and sand world would work?
voice;
If you can stomach these bursts of gibberish - fine.
[He pauses.]
It was a perfectly ridiculous curse. The City was split into two identical halves. One sand. One glass. The sand portion ran amok with monsters. [A dark smirk tinges his voice.] Not bad, entertainment-wise. But it soon became tiresome.
voice;
[Volgin likely could hear that smirk. Talking to enough of his contacts in his spy ring had given him something of an ear for it. He makes another noise in thought.
He then might have smiled a bit. It was one of his crueler ones.]
My, if I may: In what way? Were you killing them? Feeding your favorite enemies to them?
voice;
[He exhales a vicious little laugh.]
[Private]
My my. Aren't we curious? It's certainly not the sort of talk to entertain over the open Network.
[But yes. He'd killed a few monsters for sport. Watched others devour unsuspecting humans, with a smirk on his face. There was equal pleasure in 'watching' and 'participating'.]
voice;
There is the sound of fumbling, mumbling. It's in Russian. He might be calling for Raikov to look at it, but he does not come.
Damn, new technology and he's all alone in figuring it out.
Fumble. Ah-ha. He has it now.
He thinks.]
Hn. Forgive me... We do not have these things where I am from.
[Grunt.]
Now: Open network.
[This is a must-know.]
... There are spies? Parties that do not approve of your, hn... activities?
voice; 1/2
voice; 2/2
Nor do we have them in my own world.
[A beat.]
I never confessed to any activities. Regardless, the City Network is notorious for its lack of privacy. Hence the need for filters. The Police Force is also rather intolerant of anyone with different habits.
[Like murder and blood-sprees.]
Particularly anyone non-human.
voice;
Tolerance is information. Information is information is information.]
I am aware of the presence and possibility of non-humans in this "City". Vampires I had been specifically told about. I would imagine... these, hn, "habits" would describe the ... natural behaviors you would expect of them. The vampires.
[Volgin sits back. This... isn't too different from using a phone.]
So, Police Force. ... Of what affiliation?
voice;
[A beat.]
No affiliation that I can discern. If anything, they're more like a group of vigilantes. Supposedly fighting 'crime' in the name of justice. Or at least, their skewed version of it.
voice;
He isn't going to argue with any bias against vampires.]
... Hn.
I would fathom you have witnessed this, or this is word of mouth.
Or your own experience?
voice;
While I haven't had direct dealings with the City Police, I have seen them take the law into their own hands more than once.
voice; (1/2)
He lingered a bit on the first. Too long. Repeat. Because a sadist is as sadist does.
Hn.]
