[ The device turns on with a clatter and...purring. ]

—Hey! Cut it out-!

[ And Tyr's very annoyed voice as he tries to shoo away the two long-hair cats that are rubbing against his legs as he stands at the kitchen counter. ]

This isn't even— Sindar!

[ And a second later, another cat is plopped to the floor with the other two. ]

I don't know how Luc put up with you...

[ He finally reaches for his device to click off the feed. And probably get back to making breakfast. ]

[Waves back... He turns the device around to show a long haired calico cat on against his leg.]

My friend chose her name...

It's nice to meet you -- and your cats.

[ Ohhh. ]

She's gorgeous. I have an orange short-haired kitten, but his name is Biscuit.

[Tyr smiles again.]

Nice to meet you, too. I don't have any friends called Biscuit yet, but your cat sounds pretty nice.

[ There's a bit of a laugh. ]

He's spoiled. Luckily he's pretty good at not teaming up to steal food. ... So far.

You need to keep him away from the network before he starts picking up how to... But my friend used to spoil these guys, too, so that might be why they're trying with me now.

I think the dog is trying to teach him.

Is your friend still in the City? [ She doesn't think so, but it's better to ask. ]

[ He shakes his head. ] Nah... A couple of my friends disappeared last month...

[ But he's quick to go back to talking about pets: ]

Anyway, once your cat can jump high enough, I bet he'll team up with your dog in no time.

Oh. I'm sorry.

[ That works for her. ]

Luckily the dog's a corgi, so he can't get up to the counter himself.

[ He waves a hand dismissively. ]

That's exactly why he needs to teach your cat how to steal food for him. He'll be the distraction while Biscuit does the work.

Hopefully he won't get my roommate's cat or the bird involved. I think the four of them working together would win.

Ah, and they'd have you outnumbered... Hopefully they didn't hear you there.

Well, the dog's outside and my roommate's cat is in the basement.

I'm not sure about Biscuit, actually.

Is he the type to hide under chairs?

He hides under my bed a lot.

[ There's a pause where Ariadne ducks away from the screen. A moment later there's a mew, and an orange kitten is brought back up in front of the device. ]

I think he was spying.

[ Tyr can't help but smile a little when he sees the cat. It's so cute-! ]

Looks like it. I guess it's too late to stop him now.

[ Biscuit is cute and he knows it. He also bats at the device. ]

Maybe he'll take it out on my roommates instead of me. I wouldn't mind that.

[ Now Tyr wishes he had a kitten... He sort of scratches at the screen to tease the cat. ]

Are they bothering you?

[ There's another meow, Biscuit trying to bat at the device again, looking between it and Ariadne in confusion. ]

No, their reactions are just amusing.

[ Tyr smirks a little. ]

... Imagining a bunch of people chasing after their pets is pretty fun, actually... You better start bribing this one.

I feed him. I'm pretty sure I'm his favorite.

Hmm... [ Looking at the kitten. ] I hope you're right, or your reaction when he betrays you will probably be even more fun.

If he does, I'm sure my roommates will try and get it on camera for you.

And you'll get it on camera for me if he doesn't?

I can try to.
