[It's the ocean! The waves are tumbling and pretty decent today, and the device is on the sand, recording a slight figure in a blue and black neoprene wetsuit catching a wave and riding it, getting in the pipe, and then barreling out the other end.

In another minute she's coming out of the water, laughing - yes, laughing - and shaking her head to get the excess water off. She moves so her device, sets her surfboard upright in the sand and unzips her wetsuit down just a bit to get more sun.

When she speaks, her accent is a touch more Australian than it ever was, with the Namibian still in the background.]

There's a fierce curl out there today; Scholar would love this, I know I'm taking as much as I can out of it. Why isn't anyone else out here?

[She flops back, then remembers why she's out here. She grabs her device.]

I woke up and the hostel I'm staying at [she doesn't remember getting there or where she is but she's sure she's at a hostel] had this huge collection of shoes, so I put them out. I figure the owners will turn up and get them, because they're not mine. If they were mine I would have given them to a charity shop, they look pretty expensive.

[She flops back again]

Come on, someone come out here! The water's grand!

[He could almost lose track of the road for watching her, but this song is nothing without wind in the hair so he carries on, directing lines her way - remember how I made you scream? - before yelling another chorus into the rushing air.

But it's not a long song and it's not a long journey and soon both are almost done.]

[When they stop and the song ends she's grinning and wiping tears from her face]

So is this a no shoes no shirt place? Because I have a sarong but I definitely don't have a shirt.

[It's a beach cafe, they'll take anything, but he reaches down to the bag of crumpled clothes he grabbed on the way up the beach and tosses her his button-down.]

That's the wrong question. The question is, 'do you like John Hughes movies?'

[The sign swinging over the door reads The Breakfast Club]

[She looks up at the sign and busts out laughing]

[She grabs his shirt and slides it on - it's big on her, it makes her look like the girlfriend who stole her boyfriend's shirt post sex]

[All in all, not the worst way to look. He gets her door.]

I don't know, are you ordering cereal sandwiches? You can be Emilio if you want to be.

[Chase picks up two menus along the way, doing the waiter's job for him and dropping one in front of her place.]

[She starts to read the menu]

[He's sure of his order but glances over the menu anyway, grumbling lightly.]

[Laughing, he finally catches the waiter's eye.]

They have some great juices, if you didn't want to eat.

[Because usually he barely sees her take more than a bite. It can't be sustaining.]

[She looks up at the waiter]

Can I have a breakfast sandwich with hash browns, eggs over easy and a banana smoothie?

[The waiter interjects a cough and Chase snaps his menu, hands it up.]

[She laughs and smirks just a bit]

Juice fasts are for California girls. Trust me, I'm not one of those.
