[Needless to say, there's not a great deal of hugging in the Vatican, not even in its secret order. What is it that Van Helsing does whenever he finds Carl's brand of eccentricity amusing? Ah, yes. The awkward one-handed shoulder pat. There. Excellent.]

[He pouts a little, as if confused, when he responds, still hugging (he really doesn't know how social things work).]

'Course I remember you! Why wouldn't I? I mean, I thought you would've been here when I got back. I asked for you and everything, but- Hey! You're here now, right?

Yeah! We're friends. [He grins at that; he used to question it all the time, sometimes saying "I'm your friend, always kind of toeing around it. But now, he seems to have a different viewpoint, and when he says friends, he says it confidently.

But geez, Neil. Demyx is actually more self-confident than you are?]
