[Ken's not typically happy to begin with, but he looks far worse off than usual right now. And, why, yes! That's sand you see behind him. Totally left Glass City for Sand City, but he has no plans to talk about THAT. And he has yet to see Rita's latest post.]

Charlie-san? Doctor Brown? Estellise-san? Rita-san....

Where is everyone at?

And - [He turns to his side and speaks to someone(?) off screen.] You should back away so they can see you clearly.

[Ken turns the camera and you get this face on screen.]

It seems he - [PAUSE.] Are you a he? [No response, of course.] Well, this creature was trying to get into the desert, so I brought him with me. I think he has a companion in here he was trying to reach, to be that desperate.

[Ken is back in the frame.] So we're looking for any of the people I mentioned before, or anyone else I know, and this guy's companion. [Looks at Ba'ul again.] If he has one.

If not...I don't know what I'm going to do with him. Though he's very useful, and can fly.

[ooc: Ba'ul present with Judith-mun's permission.]

[The video's clear this time; even if she couldn't see the sand, it'd be enough of an indication that he's in the desert.]

[It's a little hard to believe right now that she contacted him. He stares, confused, for a moment.]

Yeah--I'm not injured now.

[Not anymore. He must've been pretty worried...But as for his question-]

You know that...death isn't permanent here. So...I woke up this morning.

[Maybe, after he bothered to FIND IT, he should have read the City guide! He will, as soon as things calm down.]

No one mentioned it before, that I recall. And still, that had to be an awful thing to go through.

But that means you can go to the glass place now. It's safer there.

Well, now you know.

[No wonder he was so torn up, she thinks. She does remember hearing him, even if she wasn't able to answer.]

It was... [She shakes her head. Awful, definitely. She doesn't really want to talk about it.] I'm on my way to the safe zone with someone. What about you? Shouldn't you have stayed there?

Maybe I should've...but I couldn't just do that. Not with everyone else over here.

So even though you got to come back, that doesn't take away any pain or what else you endured. [See? He's validated to be concerned.]

But what if something happens to you, too?

[She still tries to argue...Though his statement makes her glance away.] ...No, it doesn't change what happened.

It isn't going to. Charlie-san is going to come find me.

And I can always fly on Ba'ul if I need to. [Looks over at the large creature, gladly using a name, now that he has one.] As long as he doesn't mind.

[He leaves it at that. Who would want to talk about such a thing, anyway?]

Who? [She doesn't know Charlie, but--Ba'ul's definitely familiar, and Rita's expression lightens up slightly.]

Hey, that's right. I guess he was worried, too.

[And she's glad he's not prying about it.]

Charlie-san is...a friend of mine. [He hopes she won't mind him saying that. They've never confirmed any friendship, but they've done a lot together, and she spent the night before, as well.]

Yes. I think so. He tried very hard to get in here. So, for now, he's with me.

And they were stuck here, too? [She can understand why he came looking for everyone, even if it's a bit worrisome. Ba'ul being with him helps, though.]

Then you two should stick together until you find someone.

Yes. And I wasn't sure if she got to safety or not.

[He gives one nod.] We will. He could have left me if he wanted, earlier, but he's stayed.

[A slight nod from her, too. He must've been worried about everyone.]

Yeah, he's--you can count on Ba'ul.

Anyway, everyone should meet up at the safe zone.

[He nods to that.]

When Charlie-san comes, we'll head that way. I'll tell Judith-san, too. Then we don't have to worry about trying to look for everyone.

Good. Be careful out there, okay? And let us know if anything comes up.

[Even if Rita can't do much on her own right now. No magic, no fighting, no rescuing.]
