For being such a simple piece of crap, it's pretty easy to turn you on, huh?

[ it comes up for a direct view, to show b'elanna head on and looking more annoyed than angry now. her eyebrow quirks, pushing her forehead up and making the ridges a little more pronounced. ]

Sorry, I'm not really in a chatty mood. Thanks, anyway.

[ and with that, she cuts the feed. unfortunately she hadn't taken the time to silence the thing before shoving it into her pocket. ]

[ okay so... he's not sure if this is actually b'elanna or if the city is screwing with him. he wouldn't be surprised if it were the latter, honestly, and he has to be sure. while khan seems to be gone from the city, there's the little problem of a half-klingon appearing in the same area as kirk's crew. this will be fun to explain. ]

[ Sure is one variation of Captain Kirk accessing the video option with a polite nod, all professionalism for once. Younger than what she's seen on record, if she's ever checked, with his defining difference from Kirk Prime being those bright blue eyes. ]

because clearly captain kirk's diplomatic welcome was meant to be interpreted as a veiled threat, or something. translating human to klingon is so tricky. ]

[A Klingon is not what Uhura's ever wanted to see again, especially here, but it happened and there's nothing to do but to deal with it. At least she doesn't look combative, at least not while looking like part of the Federation now. Let's just hope B'elanna has no knowledge about what went down on Kronos forever ago.

If anybody knows Uhura, they shouldn't be surprised when she greets the woman in her native Klingon.]

Huh?

[ b'elanna catches the welcome and the acknowledgement of them both being in the city. beyond that, though, b'elanna's shaky grasp on the language she resents gives her some pretty mixed feelings. ]

Just because I have a few wrinkles in my forehead doesn't mean I'm faithful to the Empire, you know.
