Hi, I want to introduce myself. My name is Uhura. Apparently, I've been here before, but I have no memory of that, so I feel like it would be best to start from the ground up. I apologize if I have forgotten something important about you.

I'm good to pack by myself. [Her laughter turns to a frown as she realizes something.] I don't have much anyway.

[A year here according to Chekov and nothing to show for it.]

Personal possessions here are frequently transferred to others, as one may disappear any moment.

Chekov kept mine.

[She's unsure how to feel about that.]

There was no reason to discard them.

[She could say something like "But you didn't know if I would be back." but Uhura realizes this: while it sounds logical and so him on the outside, there's actual emotion behind his words and action. This is why she loves him.]

I'm glad you didn't. I would have had to borrow clothes from Kirk again.

[This is why he loves her. She understands the meaning in between the lines, that he's a being of emotion as much as he uses logic to disguise it. He couldn't have known she'd be back at all. Certainly, people came and went, but there wasn't any pattern to that either. Like now, she was back, and she had no memory of her previous stay.]

The jacket was ill fitting.

Can you imagine me wearing his pants? [She shakes her head and laughs.] No. I'll just go shopping and get some cheap stuff to wear on my own terms.

[Which says nothing about her occasional tendency to wear Spock's shirts in the privacy of their own quarters.]

Anyway, I could use some help moving furniture in. [Give her some of that Vulcan strength, Spock.]

They would also be ill-fitting.

[Not going to mention that his own clothes look much better on her, kthnx. ;)]

I will assist you in acquiring furniture. I am aware of several outlets where it is of quality and affordable.

And then you and I can throw a housewarming party. Just us. [She waves a hand behind her, indication the rest of the crew is decidedly not invited.] I'll give you a key.

[She's slightly taken aback by that, but not in a bad way.]

Very recently. I have discovered it is relatively simple.

Well, it's a good skill to have, especially when I start craving sweets.

Baked goods frequently contain eggs, and flour, but in the course of my research I have concluded that there are few specific ratios which result in the desired taste. Which would you prefer? I have a list, if you wish to peruse it.

[A laugh and she's reaching to ruffle his bangs.]

I guess I can't ask for rokeg blood pie, so how about brownies?

I have some cocoa powder left over.
