This is Ensign Chekov, Pavel Andreievich, navigator of the USS Enterprise.
[You can trust him; he's currently in uniform. His uniform tunic has been too short in the sleeves for several months now. Oh, the woes of being a still-growing teenager!]
I would request a response from any Starfleet officers or allies who receive this message. Thank you.
If you have only just arrived, you may have questions. I have attached a text file to this message that may, I hope, be useful. If there are other questions or if anyone would like to speak with me, I would be happy to talk.
Captain Kirk? Uhura and I have the communicators working. They can pick up local transmissions, and we have connected all four to a secure channel. I think that is the best that can be done.

[ooc: Fourth wall post! Everyone (duplicates, face twins, and so on) is welcome and anything goes. If you don't fancy network communication, action just about anywhere in the City is fine by me. ]

[ On the one hand it's an endearing sight seeing him in his uniform when it's obviously a bit too snug, and on the other Jim feels awful for having left him here. Not that Chekov was technically missing or anything, but ... well, still. ]
I'll nip by and grab ours shortly.

[Captainly praise is a thing that has most definitely been missed. But there are more important things afoot!]
Sir, have you seen anyone from home today?

voice;
[Listen carefully and Spock almost sounds relieved.]
What is your current location?
voice;
[The Vulcan might be the single most intimidating person on the entire ship, relieved or not, but Chekov's still pleased to hear him.]
Sir, I have rendezvoused with Lieutenant Sulu at a flower shop in the main square.

Aha! [ with a flick of the wrist and a twist of the phone... communicator device thingy, Scotty's beautiful face appears in the viewer even though he's not really paying it all that much attention. Too much to see, too much to do to waste time on things like paying attention to Chekov's rather youthful facial expressions, no offense. ]
It's good to see you, Chekov! Hard at work and everything I see? [ no he doesn't, not really ] You must've gotten one of those invitations too if you're here though. It's all very exciting if I may do say so myself. I haven't seen backdated technology like this since my cadet days and that was a trip!
[ quite literally. When else are you going to spare the time to visit a museum of old Earth technology, hmm? Certainly not while on vacation after working a six month stint on a vessel the like of the lovely USS Enterprise, he can assure you that! ]
:D
[No offense taken. Chekov's just all kinds of pleased to
have the complete setsee another crewmate (and a crewmate who isn't as intimidating as Spock to boot!).]I'm glad to see you, as well! It is very difficult to work without a ship, sir, and the technology is less exciting when you spend several months with it. This place is at least a century away from warp technology and replicators, and there are cars here that still run on fossil fuels!
[No one understands his pain, Scotty. Do you know what life is like without replicators?]
