[ Clint appears on the screen looking happy, or as happy as he's capable of outwardly expressing while still feeling comfortable in his surroundings, and he's definitely in his element up on the rooftop of the apartment building, nothing but blue sky and burning sun in the background making him squint against it. ]

Anyone for barbeque? [ It's still early, which gives him time to make more room and tidy the area a bit, but he's not left the apartment much in recent weeks, and while he's got the nagging suspicion the hot weather will probably come at a price, he figures there's no point letting it go to waste while it's there. ] Alcohol included. Might even be a hose around here to fill up the portal pool.

Let me know who's in, I'll make sure there's plenty to go around.

[She's in the apartment, having not made it up to the roof yet because she's struggling with and over sized doofus of a husky puppy that doesn't want to cooperate on the stairs.

She blows a fallen lock of hair from her face with a little huff of an exasperate sigh.]

Jasper and I will be there... [She rolls her eyes at the screen, when tugging at the puppy's collar produces no movement.]

[ She's doing all right with him all things considered, and he doesn't want to tell her what to do, but the lady on a show he's indulged in once or twice might have mentioned distraction by treats in order to get dogs to be more compliant. ]

As long as this isn't a trick I'm going to regret later if he picks me over you.

[ Still, the door to the roof opens with a echoing creak and he peers down, calling out Jasper's name once, twice, and waiting. ]

If you don't know, then you've gotta come by and experience it. It involves grilling meant on an open fire outdoors. And usually ends with drunk people.

[ It's half an hour later, and he's standing outside of her apartment, knocking at the door, a bag in hand. It's been a while since he's dropped by, and he knows he should do it more. ]

[ She isn't entirely sure what he means to "barbeque," and the lingo of this place is taking a bit of time to properly adapt to. However, he seems friendly enough. ]

...Is it normal for it to be so hot here? Just yesterday, everything seemed moderate, and seeing as how everyone is so casual about the current weather conditions...

Nah, not really, but then normal in this place seems relevant. [ He shrugs, probably too casually. ] Figured if there's something behind it, we've got today before it hits.

I see. What kind of terror should we be expecting? A mad overlord planning to raze our villages and imprison the many? A violent dragon attack? A volcanic eruption? We must begin to prepare for the worst case scenario. They will have the advantage if we are caught off-guard.

Well, we had dragons a month or two back, so I guess at one of the other options. [ It's sad how he wants to be joking, but even the dry humour loses its edge by the fact it's true. ] Building up strength seems like the best plan of action to me.
