[As she speaks, the camera is focused on an ordinary carton of eggs. Well, maybe not so ordinary, anywhere else. But that's the City for you.]

Yesterday I assumed they'd be back to normal by today, but it looks like we're not so lucky. It does make me wonder what happened to the dozen eggs I had before, though.

[She turns the camera on herself, the angle a bit awkward]

I'm not keeping these. I don't know whether they're going to hatch, but I don't particularly want to find out. If anyone wants them, they're yours.

[Pause.]

I wouldn't say no to a dozen hen's eggs in return.

Hell, I'll take 'em.

[He's kind of collecting them. It's probably a bad idea, but he's curious, dammit. And hers look awfully pretty.]

I'll trade you the normal eggs in my fridge for 'em.

If you can spare them, it'd make breakfast a lot easier.

But either way, these are yours. Gladly. Just promise you'll be careful-- maybe they will hatch.

Sure, you want me to bring 'em over? 'n I kinda wanna see them hatch.

Building Three. I can meet you in the lobby?

Sure.

[He's going to grab his carton of regular eggs out of the fridge, tuck them under his arm, and head over to Building Three, looking for her.]

[Cameron is already waiting downstairs-- after all, it's not as if she had far to go-- with a closed carton of eggs in her hands.]

[He smiles at her as he walks up.]

Hey. How's it goin'?

[She quirks a half-smile.]

Not too badly. I'm glad you were able to come by so quickly to get these.

Of course! I want to see what they turn into, y'know.

[That earns him a dubious look.]

Honestly, I kind of doubt it'll be anything good.

Sure, I mean, it's the City. It's probably gonna be fuckin' awful. But I'm still curious.

[Cracking half a smile-- rather a sad one, honestly-- she looks down at the carton. Actually, she's a little bit reluctant to give them up, not because she's attached to them but because it worries her, saddling someone else with a curse.]

You'll be careful, won't you?

Oh, sure, I'm always careful.

[Good thing she doesn't know him well enough to know that that's completely untrue.]

[Somehow, she doesn't look thoroughly convinced, anyway.]

If you're sure...

[Tentatively, she holds the carton out.]

Yeah, one hundred percent sure. It'll be great. Thanks!

[He takes the carton and peeks inside, offering the eggs a smile.]

[That does reassure her a little bit. Even if she's not sure she ought to be saddling someone else with whatever these are, it's nice to see him pleased with the deal.]

Well, thank you for taking them off my hands, Mr...?

Jimmy. Jimmy Darmody. And you're...?

Allison Cameron.

Nice to meet you, Allison. Thanks for the eggs -- I'll let you know how it turns out.

All right. [She laughs, just a little.] Don't blame me if you don't like whatever hatches, though.

Don't worry, I've got no intention of blamin' you for it. I'll blame the City.

Always a safe move, here.

And good luck with the ones I gave you. I mean, I assume they're normal, but assumptions can be bad around here.

I hadn't even thought of that. [With a faint crease in her brow she eyes the presumably-- hopefully-- normal eggs.]. I think, at least, my chances are a little bettere with these.

I'd be willing to bet on that. Anything strange happens, though, you let me know, okay?

It's a deal. And-- well-- if there's anything I can do for you when whatever they are hatch... [she trails off meaningfully.]. Just try not to end up in the hospital, please?

That's a good goal in general -- I'll keep that in mind.

[She laughs a bit.]

We'd appreciate it.

[He waves at her as he heads off with the box tucked safely under his arm.]

See ya around -- but not at the hospital!

[She just waves in return, before heading off with her (hopefully safe) eggs.]

I thought you were more the nondenominational type.

That's why I'm looking to trade them, obviously.

To pawn onto someone else. Nice.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Otherwise I'd leave them on a park bench.

Give it to a food bank or a homeless shelter. That's more your style anyway!

They'd probably give you food poisoning.
