( Alexiel's communicator is sitting on the edge of her bathroom sink. The picture is obviously skewed. This is a video that no one was meant to see.

As she stares at her reflection wearing little more than a bath towel, she reaches up and touches her cheeks. There is a strange light in her eyes and, for those who are sensitive to such things, a pulsating, powerful aura surrounding her. She raises a hand and the towel begins to slip, revealing more of her pale skin yet, at the last second, she comes back to herself enough to grab it with her free hand. Her upraised hand is soon pressed against the glass of the mirror. )

Am I meant to seek you endlessly? ( She doesn't shed tears, however the emotion shaking her voice is obvious. ) You will never know.

( Waiting in the City is slowly grinding against her self-restraint. She moves in a way that suggests she is forcing herself to bury all of the negative emotions her appearance causes her to feel.

So like him. Twins.

There really is no telling what she sees in the mirror. Are they nightmares? Visions?

To have this body and not be able to reach him is torture. This is a side she never wanted anyone else to see. With a quick swipe of her hand, she knocks her communicator away from her and the screen goes black. )

[If he minded that, they never would have started this. He feels the nip, of course, and perhaps he makes a sound at it that no one else could draw from him.]

( The sword is soon dropped in favor of her wanting to touch more of his skin. For a moment, she pauses and presses her cheek against his chest. )

[His fingers find their way into her hair, getting tangled up in the curls as he holds her close, looking down at her with an expression he wouldn't be able to understand if he could see it.]

( A faint shiver follows his touch, though Alexiel doesn't make a sound. However her gaze is fixed on his face. )

Your eyes have changed.

[As a rule, Kira isn't self-conscious. Now though, his eyes widen without him realizing it and he lifts one hand to his face, hovering short of a touch.]

What do you mean?

They are softer than they used to be. ( Though she guesses that her eyes might have softened too. ) I could always tell you weren't as cold and callous as they said.

[He blinks, oddly aware of it, then shakes his head and tries to school his face. He is good at that, better than he is at showing any softness.]

It's been a long while.

( Her long, calloused fingers slide into his hair and she licks over his lower lip. )

I am aware.

[His lips part, but he doesn't move forward for a kiss, holding still, for now, under her touches.]

Setsuna changed us.

Unexpectedly and for good. ( She's okay with that. ) I have no intention of going back.

So what would become of it, in the future? In a place where time moves forward?

I cannot predict the future. ( There might be a hint of longing in her voice. )

You know more about it than I.

[Nothing he'd admit to anyone else.]

I won't lose sight of you.

Will I lose sight of you?

Only if you have abysmal tracking skills.

I had a lot of time to hone them.

Far too much. ( Her expression falls. )

[He puts his palm against her face and holds her gaze.]

And for however much longer it might take.

My fool. ( While those words might seem derogatory, they are said with as much affection as Alexiel can muster. )

You are no better. Just not for me.

( She smiles instead of denying it. )

You are not one to be chained to one woman or one man.

And you, Alexiel? How much longer will you be chained to him?

Until he no longer has need of me. ( There's no mistaking that she looks fatigued. This chain is a burden, make no mistake, yet she loves him and always has. )

[So much he has to say to that, but so little room he has to talk. So he doesn't say any of it and just quietly cards his fingers through her hair.]
