It's not that I would want anyone stuck here, but so many of my friends have left it would be nice to see at least one of them today.

[He's looking through the crowds as he speaks.] If any of you are here we should meet. [And he'll be just about anywhere, searching for people he knows.]

Yeah, I'm still trying to learn. Charlie's a very good cook, so I'm picking up a lot from her. I don't think I ever met Flynn-san, though.

[He's still learning about the time to deal with loss.]

That's too bad. I'm sure you would have liked him. You know he was the first person I met here? It was at the fountain. He mistook me for his princess, Estelle. She has shorter hair than mine, but the color is almost the same. [Maybe a little wistful for the City. She tries to push away from that line of thinking.]

Are Charlie and Merlin a couple or friends?

Estelle.... [He stops on the name, then brightens.] Estellise-san? That was the short version of her name, right? I knew her. We were...well, we were friends. [He misses her, his smile a little sad, but still there's a happiness at remembering her.] It's a shame I was unable to meet Flynn-san, though.

Oh. A couple. They got married here.

Yes, that's right. I didn't realize you were friends. [An unspoken apology for bringing up more loss.]

Married here? How wonderful for them!

Yes, for the short time she was here, we were. Her, and Rita-san, too. [He doesn't mind. He never wants to forget her, or any of them.]

I was a little worried at first, since people leave all the time. But they seem very happy about it.

[Then Rita is gone too?]

I think when it's something like love you have to take risks like that even when it might not seem wise. [She might be thinking of Suzaku and Justin now.]

[Yes. And Yuri. And Flynn.]

I guess.... I don't know what any of that feels like, not yet.

[She hadn't dared hope she'd see Yuri again. Or Flynn.]

You will someday.

Maybe. But I would rather it not be here. Not when I might lose the person at any point. Losing my friends is hard enough.

It isn't really the kind of thing you choose or predict, but I hope when it does happen for you that it's long and happy.

I probably have a long ways off before anything like that happens, even so.

But thank you, Euphie-san. I feel like...the City's been a little different ever since you left. Or maybe it just changes a little every time anyone leaves.

And when someone arrives. There might be a lot of leaving here, but there's a lot of new faces too.

Yes, that's true, too. [But he looks away as he says that. He's shy, and has trouble meeting new people, sometimes.]

[Noticing the indicator.] It's the newest people who need thoughtful guides. [Like you.]

Yes. That's likely true, too. It is scary coming here, at first.

It can be. Everything is so different.

There are some that don't believe the situation, though. Not that I can blame them.

It is a hard thing to believe, but it's harder to go on disbelieving it. What else would it be but your life after some time?

Now that you've said it like that, I've gotten used to being here. Thinking of Charlie and Merlin-san's place as my home. Still, it provides for a harsh shock.

[He's still too shy to properly greet people, though. He tries, sometimes.]

I really am very happy you've found them. [She's grateful to them too for taking him in. He deserves a family.]

[But he does miss her.] Thank you, Euphie-san.

I'm sure you have plenty of other people to see today, so I'm glad you took some time out to talk to me.

I do have someone I need to go see, but I'm glad we talked too and I hope we can again, Ken.
