[Ginny usually loves days like this, but she hasn't had a good time of it lately and she isn't sure if seeing familiar faces today will make her feel much better. They'll leave again, as they always do, and she's uncertain she'll be able to shrug it off this time as easily as the other instances.

Still, she's smiling, because the youngest Weasley's always got to soldier on. She's so damn good at it.]

And yes, my hair really is this red; I don't know why that's come up before, but there you have it. And no. You can't count my freckles. What a thought.

I think I'd win. I've got this here - [pointing at her elbow, where there's a cluster of freckles] - I haven't counted, but it's loads of them.

Ginny pushes aside the neck of her jumper and bares her shoulder.]

Look at these right here. It's a bloody galaxy of freckles.

[Oh. That's right. She's turned up before. Ginny blushes, a little embarrassed that she could have forgotten, but so much has happened.]

You too, Lily. Any new baby photos of Harry?

[She pretends to think for a moment, then can't stop herself and lights up.]

We just celebrated his first birthday, you know; took a ton of pictures there. D'you want to see?

[If she looks a little sad, it's there and then gone in a flash. Maybe she just misses Harry, that's what she could pass it off as—it's true enough.]

Quiet, but that was all right. Harry didn't mind that there weren't a lot of guests. He liked his presents too much to be too worried.

[She's seen a scrap of that photograph, something that Harry shared in a private moment, something precious.]

He's the best godfather, isn't he.

He's brilliant. I had my reservations about him, but not so much now. As long as he doesn't try and upgrade Harry to a real broom next birthday.

[Ginny's grinning as she digs a wallet (Muggle, because it looks like it could hold paper money, but she uses it just for baby photos) out of her pocket and flips through it, holding it up so the moving images are visible.]

Here's our James. [Terrorising Godric the cat with some speedy crawling.] Bit of a handful if you can't tell.
