18th Contract - [video]
[Howl is slumped on the chair at his work bench, looking a little scruffier than his usual coiffed self. In front of him is a heart (unsurprising given today's curse.) A normal, healthy looking human heart, beating away steadily. He's glaring at it with a look of confusion and suspicion.]
I must say, it's rather larger than the last time I saw it. Although I suppose five years in the possession of a fire demon would do that to any vital organs.

action!
She's pale when she comes into the room - his work room, technically, though lately they've been working spells together, which has been an adventure for certain - and in her palm she holds a heart that mirrors his. Only she's not confused, she's...closing up on scared.]
Howl...does this mean I'm heartless?
action!
I don't believe so. They seem to be physical manifestations. I've still got mine. Can you hear your heart beating?
action!
[The colour is returning to her cheeks, and there's the small smile that slips on her face, because haha, she hadn't been as careful when she'd slammed his back in. Just desperate, so very desperate. And scared of loosing him before she even had him.
She pauses, now inside the room, the manifestation of her heart in her palms, and shifts from one foot to the other.]
Was wondering if you had anything in which I could safe-keep it.
action!
[He routes around for a good-sized container to caste a few spells on. He's much more cavalier with his own heart which he leaves pulsating away on the table on its own.]
action!
All that good work she's put into it, too!!
She gets another container from the variety of them that pepper the room, and whispers her own spells to it before holding it to him.]
Well, come on. Don't just leave it anywhere.
action!
action!
[She shakes the container.] Put it in, for my sake.

[Fine, in it goes.]
no subject
It's healthy. [A pause. She looks at him from the corner of her eyes.] You seem upset.
video because some people have to go to work;
work like losers
we can't all just be pretty, bro
But in a good way, I would hope? A larger heart is good.
...Unless it is due to cardiomegaly, I suppose.
hey he's pretty AND smart
pretty AND smart AND magic!

[Howl, I hope you're proud of yourself! That little line just knocked this scaredy-cat nurse unconscious.
Demons! Demons in hearts! Never operating on hearts again, without wearing at least ten different omamori under her scrubs, definitely.]
video;
Not you too.
