[ The video feed picks up Stiles' bedroom at the youth center, his cluttered desk covered in a cheap second hand laptop and books upon books, messy and scrawled on pages everywhere. But that's not what it focuses on - instead the feed wavers and picks up the mass of wiring on his desk. It's roughly heart shaped and big, wires that circle in on each other like a maze and pulse light every beat.

The device gets put down so that the arm not covered in a cast can reach out and prod the thing. The reaction is instantaneous, it flairs and Stiles' faint protest of pain comes through as he lifts his hand away quickly, shakes the shock out of his fingers. His computer chair creaks as he takes a seat, angling the device to take in his face. ]

I'm sure there's a metaphor in here somewhere but I'm not looking for it. Anyone else I don't know about stuck with the physical representation of how much life just sucks?

[ He hasn't spoken to Derek since the whole kissing thing and if he says he isn't confused he's a lying liar who lies. ]

Come over.

[studmuffin]

[ He doesn't reply, mostly because he hangs up. Though he's letting himself in later -- the journey a little slower without being able to drive. ]

Derek?

[lupusalpha]

[He comes out of his room, where he left his heart.]

[studmuffin]

[ Confused. ]

... For?

[lupusalpha]

For coming when I called.

[studmuffin]

Oh.

[ He's got his backpack with him, maybe to keep his heart in it, or maybe just because he's carrying it. ] Okay, sure.

[lupusalpha]

[He opens his hand. Give him the backpack.]

[studmuffin]

What?

[ What. ]

[lupusalpha]

Backpack.

[studmuffin]

[ He ... just hands it over like if Derek's going to crush his mass electrocutey heart he can't stop him. ] Geez, fine.

[lupusalpha]

[He can smell it, but he just takes it to his room, puts it in there, and locks the door.]

[studmuffin]

I need that.

[ But it's kind of funny - Stiles doesn't know if Derek's trying to do something here, protect him maybe. ]

[lupusalpha]

You really can't be trusted to take care of your own heart.

[studmuffin]

Ha. And you can?

[lupusalpha]

[He just eyes Stiles. He's not answering that, that's a loaded question.]

[studmuffin]

So did you make me come over just to take it off me?

[lupusalpha]

Yes.

[studmuffin]

Wow.

[He just looks pleased.]

[ Crossing one arm over his chest because the other, well. ]
