This is how he sees you; this is how they see you. ( Small, dark figures - much like ants - are barely discernible below. ) How easy it would be to crush you. He could do so without remorse.

They are like him. ( Suddenly, the recorder is diving towards the ground with unrelenting, death-defying speed. ) I could be like them.

( A sword flashes into existence, barely missing an innocent person on one of the sidewalks. )

But I know mercy. ( Two heels hit the pavement with a dull thud. ) Once you've tasted it; once someone has offered it to you...

You can't go back.

Open your eyes and stand together against those who imprison us here.

It is simple enough. A combination of our talents... A march upon the buildings they claim for their own...

I think it's best if we have a solid plan. If the deities control things, if they're doing the curses, they make us do a lot of odd things. Who's to say they can't just control us to turn back, or forget why we went in the first place?

And I have no intention of being cold and incapable of feeling anything in this place. I guess it's not a big deal to you, but I don't want to die on anyone.

And I don't want to watch anyone else die. Especially if they punish innocent people for what we do. These are the only things stopping me, now. And Kira. I was waiting on him.

But this isn't the world we fought for, is it?

I know you're not. But I'm not willing to sacrifice other people for our decisions. Just because you might be okay with something, or even if we return, doesn't mean they're okay with it.

And no, it isn't. But right now, I'm here, and I plan to protect everyone here as I would back home. I'm not acting until we have something more concrete. Until I know they're safe from my actions.

Sacrifices are inevitable. ( Okay, that might be some of her callousness creeping in. ) If we are to wage war on them, expect casualties in all forms.

Since we are no longer bound in one body... ( She lowers her voice. ) Why can't I attack while you protect?

You might be right about that. We might have causalities no matter what. But those people should still get a say in it. What right do we have to do as we please without thinking of, or trying to minimize, those consequences? We'd be no better than the deities, or God, or everyone else I hate.

I don't know if I can. I can't really protect against something I can't see. I'm not looked over in the curses. They affect me just as much as anyone else.
