[There isn't much to see in the video, which makes it fairly obvious that it's one of those times the device came on without knowledge of the one carrying it.

Kira wouldn't have paid it any mind right now, anyway. The recording does show the ghoul of a Japanese men, middle-aged, tired looking. Kira can be heard hesitating, taking a deep breath.

Then there is movement, the sound of a sword being pulled and then it can be heard slicing through flesh. The ghoul falls over and then the perspective changes, as if Kira has knelt down next to him. It.

Only now does he think to check the device and he's not surprised to see it switched on.]

Typical.

[Just a mutter, quiet, perhaps to hide more feeling than he'd normally show. Than the feed is switched off.]

[He's been out there, of course, looking out for anyone that needs help. The second he noticed Kira, though, Setsuna stopped, wings folding behind him as he landed. It's only after the death of his "father" that Setsuna arrived.]

[Normally he might say something, but without even warning he approached Kira to gently lay a hand on his shoulder, instead.]

[He knows - of course - that it's Setsuna without looking.]

Surprisingly life-like. Living zombie, the old guy.

Yeah, well, good thing you took care of him. Better it was you, than anyone else.

[Setsuna goes for an all out hug after that.]

M-hm.

[He's not so sure about that.]

Whatever.

[Lightly squeezes.] I can't imagine he wouldn't think that.

And I'm still not sure these things are the real thing, either. God didn't look completely like himself.

[Saya's been dashing from place to place, quite literally, doing what she could with the meager culinary blades she found. Helping where she could, because it's what she felt she should do. No time to think about how she knows how to fight, or what she might have fought before, or how this all seems eerily familiar and her body knows what to do before she can think it.]

[The telltale sound of a blade rending flesh is enough to bring her running. She finds Kira kneeling beside the now-unmoving ghoul, and is reminded of the other day, the boy and the man with the cello case.]

You knew -- him? [She's not entirely sure how to reference them, but "it" feels out of place for a likeness of someone Kira might have cared about, if Saya's theory is correct.]

It was a ghoul. Nothing to know.

[He stares down at the unmoving thing for a few more moments before getting up and cleaning the blade on his clothes. His eyes are on Saya, partly because it's easier to keep his face empty that way.]

Taking care of yourself?

[Saya's eyes follow his down to the fallen ghoul, unsure as to the true meaning of his words but too intimidated by him to pry as she wishes to.] I thought I might know two of them... but maybe it was my mistake. [A few flickers of déjà vu in an amnesiac mind could mean anything, really.]

[As to his second point, a flick of her knife substitutes for a nod.] I'm managing.

They might be shadows of who you once knew. Either way, they are nothing but trash now. No matter.

[He looks at the knife and gives a nod.] Good. A step toward independence.

[Saya reigns herself in, and it's evident. It's one thing to insist the ghouls are dangerous and must be taken care of, and another to dismiss her one and only memory of someone apparently important to her. And the other implication, she's just unsure what to make of.]

Not enough of a step, is it?
