[The sound of the fountain could be heard, and the sound of a man coughing out water as he tried to talk. His voice sounds strained and short of breath.]

Boss? [A wet cough] This isn’t exactly what I expected. Can anyone... read me? [No names or call outs, just in case this was... something else. Better safe then sorry.]

[A slopping sound, as if he just hit ground and leaned back on something, could be heard over a wet cough. The tone of his voice however was dry:] This isn't the carrier. This better not be the afterlife.

[Ah, and there goes one more voice he'll never admit to being glad he heard (maybe). He took a moment, to catch a proper breath, letting it out careful then spoke]

That'll be good. I've got... lot of questions. [he's heard of 'the City' now, and he's not on Earth or home. Still... he feels out of it]

[LOTS of them But he's drifting, so they are coming slow. He pauses a moment, then takes a sharp breath and coughs once, before asking] We're really not home?

I've been here a few months. Maybe three, four. Apparently I was here before though, left for a while, and then came back as this version of myself. It takes some getting used to.

That... [doesn't make any sense at all. Awesome. It did make him try to sit up and settle back more, trying not to chatter in the cold.] This place... sounds impossible.

[he might stop replying soon, as his assassins show up to save him, but he'll def want to thank her later for the help, and get more info from her. When he's alive and not dead]

[ If it helps, there's a lot of 'wtf when did he get shot and die happening on Tony's end here too, so the whole 'wat' thing can go both ways. ]
