[Some people actually enjoy such innocent curses such as these. Then again, some just enjoy kisses, cursed or not, which explains why Hatter can be found around town looking relatively normal and enjoying nemself. And everyone else.]

There have been worse days but very few better. These could be more frequent if someone were keeping track.

Oh, I hardly think it's as bad as all that,

[he answers, barely the slightest touch uneasy. Certainly Aziraphale has done more questionable things than that in his long life.]

You'd be surprised how serious some take kisses.

[Ne happens to take them however ne can get them. Although there are some that are a bit more important than others.]

Certainly they can be-- [After all, they have their own peculiar history, both good and bad, of which he is all too aware] But, er. I don't think it's inherent, especially as a matter of holiday tradition.

[Under normal circumstances, ne has a very particular attachment to kisses--how better to possess someone with a curse? Although kisses in general are quite fun all on their own.]

Even traditions have to get their start somewhere.

To be certain, but I do believe traditions outgrow their roots.  It's, er, human nature, I think. 

[To salvage bits of the past and carry them forward, putting them to new aims.  Pagan ritual becomes Christmas tradition. Fertility rites become goodwill to man.  With a slight shrug, looking properly embarrassed at himself, Aziraphale leans in to kiss Hatter.]

[Well wasn't that a surprise, but not all that unpleasant. Then again, ne does like kisses. And well ne is polite enough not to push too hard with the poor angel by just accepting the kiss, adding nir own slight touch to it knowing it would fluster him enough.]

They do have sense in regards to some things. One can't complain too much over this tradition.

And fun is all anyone can ever hope for.
