Shaan... [Chandela's worried face is filling the screen, its eyes blank and staring, as always, but its stitched mouth droops in a frown.
It flies away from the camera, leaving it to record a black lump of cloth, half-buried in snow, shaded by snow-weighted eaves. The eaves ought to be familiar to anyone who's been around the academy... precisely because they belong to that very same building.
There are streaks of red in the black cloth; which might be a coat, but it's hard to tell from the angle. Ghostly blue-purple flames flickering around the body.]
Shanshan! [The flames flicker out of existence and Chandela makes a tired sound, before a raven descends to perch on the edge of the eaves, tilting its head to give the ghost a one-eyed stare, before squawking noisily:] Kudari!
Kudari!
Kudariiiiririiii— awk!
Kudari!
[Chandela, annoyed with the bird, whirls around so that the flames it carried swirled together, forming a ball of fire that it throws at the bird to shoo it away.] ShashashaSHAN!!
[The offending bird flies out of view, but moments later, the irritating bird continues its mimicry.] Kudari! Kudari!

[There's a faint, purple glow around him and he's lifted off the ground for a very short time, before he falls back into the piling snow with a muffled thump.]
... Sh-shaan...
[How long has it kept those flames burning? It seems like it's too tired to get him inside and Chandela's physically much smaller than its master, so using its own physical strength to move him would be quite impossible.]

Time is of the essence; Luke acts. His vampiric strength makes for an easy haul up and carry of Nobori's heavy coat wrapped lanky frame.]

It grabs the cell phone it had used to get him help, balancing it somewhat awkwardly in the crook of its arm, and flies after them, staying very close to its master.]

One-armed cradle, Luke pulls open the door and goes in first. Immediately scents the strong odor of coffee.
Holds the door in place long enough for Chandela to cross over, all the while processing the different smells. Old coffee wafts from conveniently placed waste cans. Fresh aroma is in the air above. One second two arm redistribute of Nobori's weight, and it's off to follow the brew's trail.
Leads to a public lunch room. Full-line vending machines, microwave, sink, bottleless water cooler, and the object of Luke's quest - three coffee urns sitting on a back counter.
Kicks a chair out, props Nobori upright.]

[Nobori's too weak to offer any sort resistance, not to mention unconscious, but he's not frozen stiff, so he slumps a bit in the chair. At least some of the gathered frost's melting in this warmth.]

Grabs styrofoam cup and fills it. Creamer's powdered packets, dash of cold water from the cooler will do. Don't want to scald the man after all.
Back to Nobori. Hand under his chin, bit of head tilting, slow pour down the hatch.]

It goes down smoothly at first, but then Nobori sputters and chokes as he comes to, surprised by the fluid unexpectedly going down his throat. He probably hasn't fully regained consciousness yet, but at least he's reacting.]

Administration for this round; roughly a tablespoon's worth. One minute pause to allow swallowing. Repeat.]

Strips Nobori of his coat; re-props him. Moves to the counter and lowers each warmth generating urn to the floor. Coat is laid, lining side up, close before the three.]

... oh, but it's really quite warm, like a makeshift kotatsu!
Chandela floats down, to settle near it, flames flickering contently, offering up a bit more heat. It'll be dry and toasty soon!]

Coffee warmed core, bundled and tucked between two heat sources. Not much left to do but wait.]

After some time, Nobori starts to shift, before slowly opening his eyes.] Hngh...
[Chandela floats up to Luke's side, happily butting against his shoulder, sounding very grateful!] Shasshan de~la!

I heard. [Pats Chandela, and re-pockets his device.]

Chandela brightly smiles, darting over a tad bit too enthusiastically, nearly throwing him back onto the floor with its hug-slash-headbutt. He gives it an affectionate pat too, along with a smile, but his attention quickly goes back to the one sitting in the chair.]
... Mr. Valentine?

Chandela's still hovering around him happily, while Nobori looks confused, as if trying to recall how he wound up in this place. It takes him a moment to recall having been outside in the snow... ah, he must have exhausted himself out there. He looks back at Chandela, as if seeking confirmation.]
Shashaaan-dela! Shan!
[He nods, gathering his coat, then tries to rise to his feet, avoiding the urns, even if his motions are clumsy from exhaustion.
He nearly tips over, clearly getting ahead of himself, so Chandela tugs him back before he falls too much off-balance with a bit of its psychic power.]
... thank you both very much. Forgive me for troubling you. [He sounds ashamed.]

It's best you stay here for the night [Luke owns a hotel, but it's on the other side of City, and you shouldn't be outdoors right now.] Library's open around the clock.

A group of long sugar packets spell out the word "PARTNER" in the air above it, seemingly on their own.
There's a faint glow about them, though...] Shan-shan! [They rearrange and a few more float in to help spell "OF NOBORI-SAMA."
This is some seriously weird hallucination you're having, Raikov.]
