That's the fourth cow I've had to dodge.

What kind of curse is this supposed to be anyway?

[ grumble mumble....as he trudges the rest of the way home, an eye out for angry creatures of bovine persuasion ]

We must be talking about different cows.

[ Pause. ]

You should probably stay away from them if you can though - cute or not. Today at least.

She hasn't learnt to climb the fire escape yet, so I think I'm safe. [ As long as she stays here --.

Which, y'know, probably not plausible. ] Are there usually this many curses in a row?

Operative word there: yet. Just be careful.

[ Pause. ] Your window shut?

[ Again the pausing and a 'uhhhh' sound as he considers. Back when he took it all for an elaborate and mortally vexing dream, well, he'd been more attentive to its patterns. In a way, having decided to give into the possibility of it all being real - well more than that, to accept it as real - has required he take it as a less methodical thing - less science experiment and more just...part of the weird beast that is life. He still has days when he doesn't like it, repels from it even, but more or less when he commits to an idea, he commits. The patterns got exchanged for his focus going solely into strangely mundane things. ]

Well. Not...really. It's been every other day. So. That's a lot even for here.

How new are you?

[ He assumes, yes, but when he asks her it's not accusatory so much as curious, with a dash of sympathy. ]

I've been here for a couple of days so far. It kinda feels people are being cursed every other day, from what I can see on the network.

Yeah - but it varies from month to month.

Depending how long you're here, you'll see.

[ Pause. ]

You...settling in okay?

Sort've. I'm going to find a place soon, and then a job. Hopefully I can make it seem normal.

[ Pause. ] Well, with the curses.

It's the bulls you've gotta watch out for.

[ He looks a little rugged around the edges, as if he's been running from one (or chasing one, no one can prove anything), and far too amused. ]

[ Arthur is more annoyed so far than rugged - fortunately for him and his waistcoat at any rate, though he shoots Clint a brief expression of sympathy. ]

Bulls too. Great. Just great.

[ His brow quirks, tone dry. ]

Hopefully it's a one-day deal.

Waiting for midnight to put in an appearance. Sooner the better.

[ Peering through the window beside him. ] Some of the cows are kinda cute.

[ He snorts, a bit of a smile there, hint of a dimple. ]

You're the second one to say that. The cute thing, I mean.

Maybe...when they're not charging.

Still...it's a cow...

[ This last bit he mumbles but Clint can probably hear his dubiousness anyway... ]

[ He's fighting back a smile and doing a poor job of it. ]

Yeah, the charging thing I could do without, but it's not often you see a city full of farm animals.

And for good reason, I'm thinking.

[ His quirked brow looks more edging towards amused in spite of himself, given away by an elusive dimpling as his mouth curves upward too. ]

Still...better than the dinosaurs, I guess.

Dinosaurs? [ He sounds slightly intrigued by the idea of seeing them walking around the City than he should, or means to let on. ] Must've been before my time.
