[She'd answer, if she had words. But his words are all meaningless noise to her, except that they are human noises. The tone communicates far more effectively. It's the tone of a friend.

She cautiously brings her nose to his hands, the better to sniff him. If he reaches out to touch her, she won't object.]

[He touches her nose, very very softly, and then reaches his hand to her ear to scratch behind it carefully. He moves slowly but smoothly, not jerking or fast.]

[He hits just the spot, and Naga's tail wags slowly as she leans into his hand.]

[He smiles and moves in closer, scratching a little more, keeping his motions smooth and slow. Anyone who saw him right now wouldn't recognize him.]

[Naga is not shy about directing him, pushing against his hand and moving her head so that he'd hit every desired spot.

Congratulations, sir. You've just made a friend.]

[He huffs a laugh - a real laugh - and does what she wants]
