It was Karl again, wasn't it? I knew I shouldn't have let her out of my sight. [ except he was too busy mourning the loss of Merlin. Never again. He couldn't afford to allow this to happen again.

He'd never be fit to be king at this rate. ]

I was supposed to.... I was the one watching Saya, though. And I let her leave. That's my fault. [But from the way she spoke to him, he felt like it was the right thing to do, for her. To let her decide.]

[ he shakes his head ] No, I should warned you earlier. If I had, this never would have happened. [ but Arthur is Arthur. It's hard admitting one needs help from near strangers. ]

I already knew Karl was a problem from the beginning. He's part of why I offered to stay here. I'm just as much to blame. But talking about this isn't going to get anything accomplished.

How much of a danger is he to Saya? I can't run in there to rescue her if I don't know what I'm up against. [ and he has promises to keep. He can't let Charlie suffer. ]

Run in there? You can't just run in there. They have doors and windows they'll probably lock. Karl's not that stupid. And innocent people not involved in this live there.

Aside from that, Saya made a decision. She could have decided to fight him, but this is the route she took. You can't just jump in there and pull her away from her family and expect her to want to go. What if she wants to stay in the end? Doesn't mean it's healthy for her, but this is something to discuss with her, not barge in and drag her away from. [It's different if Setsuna finds out they have her CAGED UP, or tied down, mind.]

As for Karl, he's...a chiropteran. Kinda like a vampire. He regenerates. He's ridiculously fast. Can fly, and shapeshift.

[ oh, have no fears. He'll do his best to check-up on Saya. Even if he has to do it the hard way. ]

And have you fought with him before? If he has a weakness, I need to know it.

[ It's not the first time Arthur's gone up against magical creatures before, but it would be the first since Merlin showed up, years ago. He can hardly say he feels the most comfortable though by no means is he lacking in courage. ]

Yeah, I have. And other than his own insanity, his bloodlust, weaknesses don't seem to exist for these creatures. [He doesn't know about Saya's blood, yet.]

Yep. Which, if he gets wrapped up in something is easy enough. It's when his attention is elsewhere that it's hard to keep him occupied.
