[She pulls back a bit, but only to be able to look at him. Her eyes are searching his for a moment before she speaks and her voice isn't the smooth, easy thing it always seems to be. She trips a little, but she means what she says.]

[He wasn't expecting her to reciprocate. Justin's not entirely sure what to do with that or with the feelings that evokes.]

He does indeed kiss Euphie. There might even be the slightest spark of passion.]

[She likes the word just fine and she might have more than a spark. She feels like she's been waiting for this kiss for a long time even if she wasn't entirely aware of it. After all, she's never exactly been lucky in love. Not that this is really an exception. She's no longer in the City—just another visitor. She tries not to think about it, but some of that feeling of their temporary position pours into the kiss.]

It's enough to distract him from the fact that Euphie isn't staying, and that's no small feat. He hasn't felt so much a part of someone else since Richard, but that was a competitive and destructive closeness. This is something entirely different--romantic, affectionate. Desperate.

He shares that desperation and urgency. This kiss has to express everything that words can't.]
