[This is Justin making a post. Reluctantly. If there weren't people he hopes to see again, he would happily spend the day in his room with his cat and a book. As it is, he's in the garden with his cat and a book.]

For those of you who are new to the City, don't panic. This happens periodically. It's temporary. Anyone who arrived today and hasn't been here before: Don't panic. You'll go home soon.

"Don't panic" is actually the best advice I have.

[He has no idea. He can't shake the suspicion that he's deluding himself into thinking Euphie's more interested than she is.]

I'd choose being somewhere else with you over staying here.

[Don't look now, Justin. Your cheek is being kissed softly and for a beat too long.]

[She pulls back a bit, but only to be able to look at him. Her eyes are searching his for a moment before she speaks and her voice isn't the smooth, easy thing it always seems to be. She trips a little, but she means what she says.]

[He wasn't expecting her to reciprocate. Justin's not entirely sure what to do with that or with the feelings that evokes.]

[It's not a question so much as a need to make sure those were words that really happened.]

[She doesn't mind even a little.]

He does indeed kiss Euphie. There might even be the slightest spark of passion.]

[She likes the word just fine and she might have more than a spark. She feels like she's been waiting for this kiss for a long time even if she wasn't entirely aware of it. After all, she's never exactly been lucky in love. Not that this is really an exception. She's no longer in the City—just another visitor. She tries not to think about it, but some of that feeling of their temporary position pours into the kiss.]

[This is the first serious kiss Justin has had with someone he's deeply attached to, and it's--

It's enough to distract him from the fact that Euphie isn't staying, and that's no small feat. He hasn't felt so much a part of someone else since Richard, but that was a competitive and destructive closeness. This is something entirely different--romantic, affectionate. Desperate.

He shares that desperation and urgency. This kiss has to express everything that words can't.]

[She's breathless when oxygen needs demand she pull back at least a bit. Her cheeks warm and grow pink as she looks at him.] Justin...

[He's in a similar state. Euphie, undoubtedly, blushes far more becomingly.] Hm?

Nothing. I'm just happy. [Does happy make her dizzy or the lack of breathing during the kiss? Either way it's kind of an appropriate feeling right now.]

Oh. [He ascribes any and all lightheadedness to temporary oxygen deprivation and the influx of--no, it's more than chemicals in the brain.] So am I.

Good. The very best Justins are happy Justins. [Is she making sense right now? She isn't so bothered if she's not. She's just, well, really happy.]

[She can make all of the almost-sense she wants while she's here.

Which, unfortunately, reminds him that she's not going to be here very long.]

Do you think that the City would let me leave with you?

Leave with... [That smile dies on her lips.] Justin, you know I don't have anywhere...

Neither do I. There's a chance that we might go to the same nowhere...

[He doesn't really believe this, but he's trying to fool himself.]
