[It's hard to tell what the gentleman is thinking as a pair of sunglasses cover half his face. From the tone of his voice it's easy to tell that he's exasperated, tired and pissed off. He's dressed in a very expensive business suit that is currently a bit singed, has some blood on it, and very rumpled. Clearly someone has been busy before they arrived here and hasn't had a chance to change.]

Another kidnapping? Really. Don't you people ever get tired of it?

I have to say it's pretty good for a kidnapping. I mean, I didn't even feel the transfer and that's damn hard to do.

[He pauses and looks around to get a better sense of his surroundings.]

Are you fair folk? It doesn't feel like Faery.

[That said, he shrugs dismissing the matter out of hand. Faery or not, he's still been kidnapped after all. That's what needs to be dealt with.]

Anyway. It'd be best to let me go back right now for everyone's sake. My father will be pissed off when he finds me missing and his temper is already frayed and my fiancee will be pissed off and her temper is even more frayed.

This seems like a nice place, if odd. So instead of pissing off the god of the dead and the warmage just let me go home and I won't mention it. This will save a lot of lives in the long run.

I've got enough on my plate already.

Just a regular old world. The United States.

No one ever believes me about the angels and demons fighting in the streets, but all the street kids know it's true.

I live just outside of DC in West Virginia.

Oh, I've probably been near there.

I guess you traveled around a lot then?

There are some things out there that only kids can see. And then when you get older you lose the ability to see them.

My dad, he... well... he was pretty much a drunk and we'd go from place to place with him trying to get work and getting fired. Mostly he'd stay in shelters or sleep in his car and mostly I'd sleep on the street.

You think so? 'Cause it always seemed so real. Even when I got old, too. But maybe 'cause my brain doesn't work quite right I just kind of stayed sort of young anyway.

Oh, it's okay, I do it all the time. I get so happy to be talking to someone that I forget I'm supposed to be polite and tell my name.

I'm a bit lost as I don't know the layout of the land and how things work here.

I work at the Library and it's got all the information you could ever want.

But if you have any questions I can try and answer them.

The undead around here, what can you tell me about them?

Oh gosh. I'm not going to be able to help much.

Um... maybe there's a cleaner place in the main streets of the City, I don't know.

I don't think there's a hotel, but there's a Welcome Center where you can stay or you can just pick an empty apartment and stay there, the City doesn't mind.

There's tons of places to eat dinner, but mostly I don't go to them so I don't know what a good one is.

And I don't know about the undead. Do you mean like vampires? Or like someone who's City dead?

Just random open apartments? How do you prevent others from coming in?

Oh no, you can get keys and stuff. It's just part of how the City works.

There's a little place right around the corner from the Library. Sometimes I go there for a special treat.

Huh. Well... I don't know a lot about vampires except that here they're all different. They all seem to have different rules and abilities.

City Dead happens when you die here. You come back to life except you're cold and you have no pulse and stuff. But sometimes you can bargain with the deities to get your life back.

That's really strange. I wouldn't trust them.

What do they serve?

I don't live in them 'cause I get too scared. I live out in the woods.

Oh, all sorts of things! They have soup and they make me grilled cheese sometimes and they make fancy things too but I don't really know what they'd be like so I mostly have simple things.

Really? Are you dead where you come from?

The woods are less scary than the buildings? How scary are they then?

No. I'm a necromancer, but things that can detect or notice undead things generally think I'm one of them.

I... I get scared inside of closed up places. Apartments... there aren't enough ways out, especially if you're up high. There's lots of room in the woods. So you can run if a Bad Man comes.

Plus a friend made me a little house in the woods and it's all open so I don't get scared. Animals are safer than most people, anyway.

Silly! Even I can make a grilled cheese if I get brave enough to use the stove, so they can't be very fancy!

Oh... I'm not dead, so I probably wouldn't notice, I guess.

[Well that doesn't sound good at all. He'll file that away for future reference. Hey. He does the hero thing a lot.]

I'm used to people cooking for me or lots of take out. I didn't get stuff like grilled cheese sandwiches often.

Possibly not. I'm sure it'll go away once I've been here a bit. Like getting sea legs.

I love it. It makes me very happy and I feel safe.

It can be a little lonely, though.
