[Those that are used to feeling his presence would have been missing that of Setsuna Mudou's for the past hour-two hours. He's here now, though, with a big smile on his face.]

So, Dave was right. That other City is super creepy. Don't think I'll be going back there alone.

Anyway! Hey, DEITIES! [He gives a big grin.] Would you join me for some tea?

[ooc: Yeah, he went to Shadow City. He's spent the past three weeks, or so, learning how to "teleport" (I'm not sure what else to call it, vague-ass abilities), as he did in canon, while NOT being under duress. The result is he can, but it does nothing but take him to Shadow City, then back to the City. Even when he tries anywhere else.]

[He lands shortly after, two wings out, and they stay out, folded behind his back, smile still on his face. He's still proud, okay! And happy he didn't get stuck in that place. Makes the City look shiny and bright.]

Yo, Karl.

[ He's settled under the spreading branches of an oak tree to protect his complexion. Twirling an ornate dagger, left-handed. The empty right sleeve hangs at his side. ]

So cheerful.

Perhaps Kira does drug you.

Nope! I'm just like this naturally.

Would you have preferred me better when I was selfishly wallowing in my own self-pity and depression?

[He settles next to Karl, barely noticing the dagger, but he reaches out, aiming to poke at the empty sleeve, curiously.]

You'd certainly seem less stoned to the casual onlooker. [ He swats Setsuna's hand with the dagger's handle. ] Leave that be.

Well, maybe the City will curse me to be my old self one of these days.

OW! [Small noise there, he pulls his hand away and rubs it with the other.] Those are bones in my fingers! Not metal!

Your old self? Without the drug use? [ He tosses the dagger into the air. It spins end-over-end before he snatches it neatly. ] Then stop poking your fingers where you shouldn't.

No. I was just too busy thinking my life sucked and not really paying attention to anyone else.

But it looks so... So. Weird. [Just sticking one finger out pointing at it, not reaching over. Even though it's obvious he wants to. The glinting of the dagger when it's tossed up does catch his eye, though.]

How sharp is that thing?

Sometimes it's easier that way. [ But not always. Life has a way of intruding on solitary moments of grief. ] Of course it does. Downright lopsided. [ It sickens him. He avoids mirrors when bathing or dressing. But as long as Diva gets her babies, it's worth it. ]

Sharp. [ He tosses the blade again. Lets it fall, metal flashing, point-first on his open palm. It pierces halfway in, blood gushing. ] See?

Easier, yeah, but selfish. [BABIES~!]

[Setsuna stares, a little horrified.] What the hell! You're fine doing that to yourself? [So says the kid that plunged a sword in his own eye.]

Some are just born selfish. [ Karl wasn't. But his generosity warped with the passage of time. ]

Hm? [ He withdraws the dagger. The wound closes instantly, a bead of blood rolling. ] All gone. Get stabbed and dissected enough, you grow used to it. [ He smirks and licks the blood off the knife. ] Your turn~

...I really hope I wasn't. That'd suck. I'd always be fighting with myself. [He can't see Karl as selfish, anyway.]

[For all his complaint, there's not a bit of hesitation as he takes the dagger. Though there is a frown and dark look at the word dissected.] Where do you want it to come from? [It's harder to see someone else get hurt.]

Your hand will do. [ He knows Setsuna has a high pain threshold. It's just tastier watching the boy cringe and cry. ]

[And Karl's quickly learning so many ways to make him cringe and cry. Setsuna presses the blade deeply when he pulls it across, so it won't heal too quickly. He barely notices the sharp burn, the blade is so fine.]

Hurry. [He offers the dagger back to Karl.]

[ His red-slick hand clasps Setsuna's. He shakes firmly. Relishing the delicious blood-scent blossoming in the air. ]

There. Word for word. Blood for blood.

Now we have a deal.

[Setsuna keeps his grasp just as tight.]

We also have a bit of a mess.

Easily remedied. [ He lets Setsuna's hand go. Pops the red fingers into his mouth, sucking them clean. ] Why waste a drop?

[With a sigh, his clean hands is on his face while Setsuna shakes his head.] That was so predictable.

Guess I can't blame you being fixated on blood, though. You're a bloodsucker, what else are you gonna fixate on?

I only fixate if it's good blood.

[ Consider that a compliment. ]

[Have a bit of a confused blush for that one, Karl.]

What makes it good? Is it just the taste? [Yes, he's curious.]

[ A blush? How coy. ] Taste. Scent. Texture. After-effects. [ Syrup-sweet. ] Usually it's pretty girls who possess those qualities. But you're something of an exception, Mess~i~ah~

[More blushing, but of a disturbed nature and protest, this time.]

B-but.... Maybe it's because of Alexiel?

[ Even better. He strokes Setsuna under the chin. ] Tsk. Give yourself some credit. Perhaps it's just you~

[The chin stroking goes unnoticed, for a moment. His outrage needs to be expressed first.] But I'm not a girl! She is. That would make more sense.

[Then a side-eye look.] What are you doing?

[ Too late, Sets. He's gone straight for the kill. The lip-lock leaves a touch of blood and a brush of cool tongue. He draws back, smirking. ]

There.

Now the deal's properly sealed.

[Face red, not a single thought went through Setsuna's mind. He stiffened in confusion, completely shocked. But why? He should've known. Karl even gave him foreshadowing this time!]

[There's not much thought, after, just a reaction - Setsuna's fist going for Karl's face.]
