The curses seem rather varied today, don't they? Is this something that occurs every month, or is it something unusual that I've been unlucky enough to experience throughout my time here? I haven't noticed any particular curse I may be experiencing, but...

You could, I'm quite sure, find at least five better singers in the surrounding area that would enjoy your listening to them more.

[Charlie's not cursed today. What is is, is sympathetic towards Mister Ryan's situation. Not that she's been cursed to sing. However. The curses around here, especially on these weekends, can in fact be incredibly awkward.]

I'm not sure if I'd agree with that assessment, but I appreciate your attempt to make me feel slightly better about this ridiculous...

[Well. That was a rather lengthy way of expressing his appreciation for her attempt at making him feel less awkward about this curse. He coughs uncomfortably.]

[And Charlie just raises her eyebrows. If he weren't so visibly uncomfortable, and if she weren't engaged, she'd probably crack some joke about him flirting through song. But it wasn't appropriate at all now.]

They are. Some of which I haven't listened to for years, but which apparently made their way into my subconscious for just this sort of occasion.

[There's a brief smile on her face.] My grandfather and grandmother used to dance in the kitchen to them when they thought I was sleeping.

[But Charlie doesn't actually sleep much. And her 'grandmother' and 'grandfather' were just a nice old couple whose hearts broke for a violently orphaned girl.]

They're fantastic songs.

They're not bad, I agree. Of course, being reminded that I am likely the same age as your grandfather and grandmother is a bit disconcerting. I...

[That was certainly not the song he'd meant to break out into, if indeed he'd meant to break out into song at all. No, that one was far too flirtatious, and he consciously cut himself off.]

I apologize. This curse is unpleasant, to say the least.

Just think. Midnight will be here and you'll be done singing.

[Though he's aware he looks good for his age, he still knows he's quite a bit older than a fair number of people here.]

What if this ridiculous curse lasts more than a day?

Then you'll be waiting until midnight tomorrow. I suggest keeping the networking device in a drawer, if that ends up being the case.

A good suggestion. I think serenading people has rather run its course of being interesting or at all amusing.

At least I was able to keep that one to a line of song only. I won't begin to ask how this curse works.

Curses have minds of their own. There's really no easy way around them, I'm afraid.

And I don't suppose there's anyone I can bribe to make the curse go away?
