[Lucy is lying on her stomach across her bed, Masha aka Giant Ginger Brain Washed Cat is lying next to her purring while Lucy runs her fingers along the cat's side. It's rare that Lucy shows up on camera without any makeup, but she doesn't have a stitch on right now and her hair is a very messy bun thing on top of her head. She's wearing sweats and a tank top as well. This isn't an accidental broadcast, but she takes a moment to say anything.]

So in the last month I've been married to two people. I think the City is trying to tell me something and it's just...not going to happen. I'm not the marrying sort of girl, you know? Besides, people leave too often to get married. It's supposed to be a 'for life' thing and that's not even possible here. I had a talk with someone the other day about the City's 'evils': Apathy and Effort. I think I prefer it when the City is apathetic because when they put effort into things someone gets hurt.

I think apathy from the City would be best for everyone.

Maybe one day they'll reach the point where they're so apathetic, they just let us all go.

Is it weird I'm still not sure I want to go home? I did once for a little while and home changed so much.

Not really, no. I mean...I had this sense of having been away, but I couldn't have been because no one had missed me, you know?

But ...how had everything 'changed' in yours? It doesn't sound like you were away too long.

It was not so bad, being married. But no, the City is a bad place for that, and I dislike it when curses change emotions.

You were married yesterday too, weren't you? Yeah, it makes it hard to decide what's yours and what's just left over from a curse.

I had not thought of that. I think, though, that I would like you even if we hadn't been married.

So it was like a practice run for when you really get married.

How long have you been in the City, Lucy?

It feels so much like giving up though, which I guess is what I'd like for the City to do.

It'll be three years in February. I went home once, but only for a couple of weeks.

Funny how that's a quality we admire in people usually.

It's okay. Sometimes I don't mind it. It's sort of become home, you know?

I've known a few people to marry successfully in the City.

Really? It always seems like it has to end in tragedy.

I suppose it did help that one of the couples I'm thinking of was from the same world. So they did have that advantage over others.

I thought the subject was properly a discussion of the City's evils of Apathy and Effort.

Sort of? I mean...not really. That was just part of it.

I don't think so either. I"m to young to get married anyway. [Well, she's almost 25, but that's irrelevant to her being old enough to get married at the moment.] Did you end up married, Mae?
