Yesterday seemed so sad. Even if it was just a curse, everyone was acting as if they were going to be separated even before they were married. Why would anyone want to sign such a negative agreement in anticipation for a life long journey together? Isn’t that why you make sure you find ‘the one’ meant for you, to ensure you two can have a life happy together? I suppose creating and signing such a contract seems so counterproductive to marriage. If a problem arises, then the two of you should work together to fix it, right? Because… you love each other, right?

[Because marriage was supposed to be about love; a binding contract between two people. Being a princess, perhaps her ‘marriage’ to anyone would be different, unless she went out and decided to spend her life with the one she loves. So yes, her saying this is hypocritical in a sense, but it’s so sad. But if she had to be married, she would want to spend her life with the one she loves. That would make her happy.]

What happens when your people get divorced?

It's not that rare an occurrence where I come from, so. Most of the time it saves them the trouble.

It's an easy way out.

[Basically.]

Does it really upset you that much?

There's always fear, I guess. [He shouldn't really talk. His parents are still together, he never even considered tying the knot, and as far as he knows his brother has been happily married for a few good years.] It was just a curse. Nobody got hurt.

Don't let it bother you.

Doubt it. From what I've seen curses aren't big on giving people what they want.

What did they give you? [Beat.] If it's okay to ask.

[He's quiet. They sound more like they're looking to ridicule people than make them happy, but. The girl is clearly not a fan of pessimism.]

That's good. To hear that this place can give you nice things.

[First thing you should know about Lewis: he's full of shit.]

[Pause.]

Does it make up for everything else, though? For you.

[Denial is fine too.]

I'm sure a lot of people wish they could do that too.

Forget about the bad parts.

I don't see any point on dwelling on them.
