[Lucy is sitting on top of the counter in her store. She's wearing a dress and a pair of heels. Her hair is wavy, curly and loose around her shoulders. There's a flush in her cheeks that hasn't been there in a very long time and she's got a big smile on her face.]

Someone made a deal for me, at least I think that's what happened. Anyway, I'm alive and who ever it was...thank you. It's not like I really think a thank you can take care of that. It's sort of bigger than that and by sort of I mean a lot bigger than that, but thank you anyway.

[Lucy has an idea who made the deal for her and why, but she's not entirely sure that he wants it broadcast.]

[This is said lightly, but Chekov still can't quite believe how badly he managed that particular trade or imagine what he's going to do with himself without all of the knowledge that made him valuable. Still, a life is worth a good deal; the trade doesn't seem entirely unfair.]

Pickled herring, holodets, shuba... those are the three that I like best but can very rarely convince friends to eat.

Holodets... I have nothing to compare it to, but mostly it is pigs knuckles and other things boiled down, minced, and set. Like gelatin, maybe? Shuba is herring and beets and mayonnaise and things like that. There is nothing to compare that to, either.

Both are very good.

Oh! We have a dessert in the South that's like Holodets. It's called pig's foot jelly. I don't really eat it though. Shuba sounds like...crab slaw or something,

I don't actually think I've ever eaten them though because...I just haven't.

I have been told that taste is acquired through culture, but you may like holodets and shuba, since the South is, in some ways, similar to Russia in that respect.
