I can’t be here! [The voice is noticeably tinged with panic and its a few moments fumbling with the device before the unimpressed face of a teenager appears, looking half way between panic and annoyance at finding himself... where ever here is]

Look, I’m sure someone thinks this is a brilliant practical joke, haha, but if you don’t tell me how to get home right now I’m going to rip someone’s head off. I’m not even particularly bothered if it was their fault I’m here or not.

I can’t be here. [ He can’t just disappear, he can’t abandon his pack, what if Derek thinks he took off after Erica and Boyd? What if the alpha pack attack when he’s not there? Their pack is tiny, they’d be outnumbered even with him there and from Scott’s description, Peter wasn’t the kind of person who he wanted Derek to have to rely on.] I really can’t.

[Derek moves in just a little closer, his hands in his pockets. It's strangely comforting, having his beta here, like a band around his chest has lifted]

Stiles said it's called the City. We're stuck.

The City? [A sarcastic remark isn't even needed here, it's that bad a name. He may be slightly wary about the whole place though so if he shuffles up to Derek's side that's totally subtle.]

How does Stiles know about this place anyway? We saw him a few hours ago.

I know. It's original.

[A pause. This is the complicated part]

He says he's been here a month. I've been here a few days. Time doesn't work the same way here.

A month? What on his own? How the hell does that work? I mean there's only one way for time to work.

I'm surprised he survived, too.

[Derek tilts his head to start into the woods. Derek has a cabin-thing he found]

I don't know. But a few months ago you thought that there was only one way for humans to work, right?

[Laughing slightly, Isaac turns and follows Derek through the woods]

Did you know this sort of thing was possible?

No.

[He says it kind of thickly, like he didn't want to actually admit that.]

[That's more than a little unnerving]

Right... I'm guessing if Stiles has been here all this time then we can't leave?

I wouldn't have left you and stayed away.

[Derek may be a crappy Alpha but he's good at least for that.]

Yeah, I know. [He's telling the truth, he doesn't think that Derek would abandon him]

I just meant if there was a way out to find, he probably would have found it by now.

I've been looking, but it doesn't seem like there's anything obvious.

[He moves through the woods like he belongs here]

You can stay with him at the youth center. He told me that minors get a check to live off. Or you can stay with me.

[Isaac's still too unused to this new place to feel at ease but having his alpha here as well helps, he doesn't walk with the same conviction of Derek but he's stopped looking so completely out of place]

They give us money? Cool. Where are you living?

You, they do. I need to find a job.

[He nods over to a small cabin that's sort of nestled between some trees. It's in better shape than his house back home, at least.]

Huh. So what are you actually qualified to do? [Don't kill him, he seriously has no clue.

When the cabin comes into view he wanders ahead, curious.]

We should have a party about the lack of train.

Youth counselor.

[Was that...a joke?

He just looks at the cabin]

It has a good basement.

[Isaac let out a snort of laughter before wondering if Derek making a joke (he seriously hopes it was a joke) is a miracle or reason to prepare for the end of the world]

Save us all.

[Scowling a little] Goodie, I love a good basement. You aren't part mole are you? I mean do we need an underground living space?

I like to be prepared.

[In case he decided to take a pack here, he would need that space. At least Isaac mostly has control]

I don't sleep there. There's a couch for you, for now.

I think I'll be able to cope now. At full moon.

[With a small smirk] Maybe don't bother with the awkward shopping for chains trip?

We'll see how it goes. Full moon here is tomorrow.

Tomorrow?? How does that work? We just had one?

Time moves differently here. I guess the moon doesn't sync up, either.
