Either way, he keeps pawing at the device with another growl, then tries chewing on it, and then finally gives up and trots off. He doesn't have to put up with this.]

[Oh, hello. Raymond remembers this guy. Too bad these aren't exactly the kind of circumstances under which he would've liked to encounter him again.

Still, there's no reason to be hostile, at least not yet. He lets out a wuff when the Doctor approaches, trying very hard to resist wagging his tail.]

[ Crouching down. ]

I've always loved huskies. Intelligent eyes, you know? But I'm being rather cautious. I assume you're one of the City's residents. I hope having four paws isn't ruining your time.

[He whines at that, ears pinning back. Hopefully that will be enough to convey that yes, he is ordinarily a resident, and yes, his time is being rather ruined by all this nonsense.]

Oh don't worry, I can talk dog. Well, mostly. I might get my ps and qs mixed up.

[What. Raymond is doubtful of that, but the only way he can really express it is to tilt his head at the Doctor.]

[Setsuna's been out all day giving out biscuits, and the desire to do so has not diminished. He pulls one out at seeing the husky.]

Hey, you're really pretty for a dog. Kinda like a wolf.

You want a biscuit?

[There's a soft growl when the kid reminds him that yes, he is a dog, and no, the wolf comparison does not help. But then he notices the biscuit and oh goddamnit his tail is wagging.]

Okay, so you don't like being a dog. But you definitely want one, huh?

[He sets it down in front of the dog, then kneels and grins.] There you go.

[No, he definitely doesn't, and what he really wants is the use of a voice again to congratulate this kid on his superb observational skills. But then that damn biscuit is in front of him and he can't keep himself from snapping it right up.

His tail is still wagging, but he growls again. For this indignity, there had better be more where that came from.]

[A light chuckle.]

Lucky for you, I have a couple more left. [He lays out another one.]

[He's still wary, but he can't quite fight the doggy instinct to snap up the biscuit anyway. He can't quite get his tail to stop wagging, either. He looks up to Setsuna and licks his chops, clearly expecting another one.]

Okay.... But this is the last one. I have to get more after this.

[Lays out the final one. Then keeps his hand out to sneak a petting in.]

[He wolfs down that biscuit just as quickly as the last two — and hey, what the hell, he butts his head into the kid's hand for pets. He did give him treats, after all.]

You're pretty smart, too. [Gladly pets him, feeling the fur, rubbing behind the ears. Curious to see what the husky prefers.]

[Ugh. Rationally, Raymond knows full well he should not be buying into this, but damnit, he can't help it. He leans into his hands, tail thumping against the ground.]

[And Setsuna knows not all of the human-turned-dogs might appreciate the petting, but it's like he can't help himself, either. He just keeps doing it.]

I wonder who you are. If we know each other normally. I really can't tell.

[There's another low, slight growl at that. Careful, kid; no conversations while petting is going on.]

[He stops.]

Was that the wrong way or something?

[No, that is the opposite of what he wants Setsuna to do. He butts his head into his hand again, trying to get the petting started up again.]

Oh! Okay. More petting, then.

[He gets right on that, feeling around the thick coat, scratching behind the ears.]

[Trot trot trot. Trot. Perk. The yellow dog looks up straight at the black and white dog across the street. Then he breaks into a run for Raymond.]

[Oh what the fresh hell. Raymond's immediate response is to bark and snarl, hackles up, until the other dog is actually close enough for him to make sense of his scent.

That's not really Freddy, is it?]

[It's me, Freddy! You know me! I think I know you! Oh fuck I hope I know you.

Dog instincts dictate one does a funky little bowing sort of gesture for peace. Playtime peace.]

[His ears prick forward at that. Yes, that's definitely Freddy. He doesn't know precisely how he knows, but he knows.

Playtime sounds like a good idea, at least as good as any idea can sound to Raymond's doggy brain, but first he needs to investigate further. Sniffing you out now, Freddy.]

[Whoa whoa whoa. Getting personal there, Raymond. Don't they already know each other anyway? Except a cop as a dog is still a cop dog and cop dogs need to be sure. Investigation is in the bones. Look at Freddy craning to sniff at Raymond too. His own tail is still wagging though and it's thick and solid and perfect for whipping huskies in the face.]

[Hey, now, be careful with that thing or Raymond might be inclined to just snap it off. Okay, maybe not off, but he does snap at Freddy's tail regardless. In a playful way. Sort of.

His own tail is wagging of its own accord, anyway, so that's probably a good sign.]

[Hey. Hey puppy. Hey. Wanna play?]

[Excuse you other dog but he is most certainly not a puppy. Not that he isn't willing to play, of course; he's just going to be a little wary about it.]

[Turlough comes sniffing over, circling around him, sussing him out.]

[And he's doing just the same. Does he know you, other dog? Not that he's sure how he'd be able to figure it out like this. He's still having a bit of trouble getting used to this whole overpowering sense of smell thing.]

[ Ivy's just made breakfast. She isn't exactly surprised, but her expression is-- a lot more open than it usually is.

Being around animals is easier on the Archive than being around people is. Even if they're sentient animals. ] Good morning.

[There isn't really anything that can make Raymond feel happy about being stuck as a dog...again. But the change in Ivy's usual expression comes close, which is probably evident in the way his tail wags when he looks up at her.]

[ She hesitates for a moment before reaching out, just resting her hand between his ears for a moment, testing the waters. ]

[Hey, no need to be shy. Raymond butts his head into her hand, tail still wagging, all but urging her to pet him please.]

[ Well, in that case. Breakfast abandoned on the table, she buries her hands in his fur, scratching and petting. ]

[Derek has tried to avoid being out, because god damn it, dogs hate him, they always flip out, because he smells like the big bad wolf and-

...a husky. He sees Leon first and is heading the other way when the wind changes and Leon is downwind of him]

[Whoa what the hell what is that. Raymond isn't rationally sure exactly why his canine instincts are putting him on high alert, but he can't do much to help it. He growls at the guy down the street, hackles raised.]

[Derek hears the grown and turns, and now his own instincts come into play. He draws himself up and stares this dog down. He really hopes it's a real dog and not a person.]

[Nope, too bad. Raymond's human curiosity overtakes his instinctive urge to bark bark bark this time, and he ceases the growling in favor of pricking his ears forward and trotting over to see what this is all about. Hopefully the guy will stay still long enough for Raymond to sniff him out.]

[Derek has a growl of his own - not his obvious werewolf one, but a more subtle human sound.]

Back off.

[What's this guy's problem? Raymond just barks in return. If it weren't for the weird scent coming off this guy, he'd only be too glad to leave well enough alone, but nope.]

[He is the crankiest wolf. He reaches down and quick, he grabs Raymond's muzzle]

[Okay wow how about no. He snarls and growls, hackles raised again and ears pinned back, as he tries to tug away from his grip. No need to be rude, bro.]

I'm going to let go, and then you're going to go.

[Derek grins, but it's more a grimace, like showing his teeth, except he's not growling]

[Raymond only growls again. While his doggy instinct is telling him that he should feel very, very threatened right now, that doesn't keep the human part of him from thinking don't tell me what to do, asshole.]
