a few moments later, it turns back on again, and Ventus is grinning triumphantly. ]

So that's how you do it! [ after a pause, he lifts one hand from the communicator, leaving it at a slanted angle as he waves. ]

Hi! I'm looking for some people. A guy with brown hair, wearing clothes that are similar to mine, and about ye tall -- [ As he moves his hand, the camera tilts again, showing - not the hand that roughly judged his companion's height, but Vanitas, standing on the roof of a building close behind Ventus. As if on cue, he shifts, takes a step forward-- and jumps off of it and onto the ground a few feet behind Ventus. ]

There you are, Ventus. I’ve been looking for you. [ He raises some weird looking sword, swinging it forward.

Ventus moves out of the way sharply, communicator dropping to the ground as he pulls out his own odd looking sword. It is then that the feed times out. ]

[He waits, a little curious, then shrugs it off. He can't blame Ven for feeling a little spaced out.]

It's this way. [Pointin'.] I found it my first week here. Now the owner says I'm one of his best customers.

[ follows the direction of the pointing, and starts heading to that direction :V come on facetwin ICE CREAMS A'WAITIN'. ] Do you go there every day?

Not...every day.

[ Most days though :c Yup. ]

Depends whether I have a friend to come with me. Sora and I go a lot.

[ snickers. nice emphasis, facebro. ]

Yeah? You guys have room for one more?

Heh. Yeah, definitely. You'll probably meet him soon. He's my roommate. And my friend, too.

I did, actually. [ just before you. ] It was surprising to see a familiar face. Other than you, I mean. [ ..pause. ]

Not everyone's like that, right?

[He cocks his head]

A familiar...face? Everyone's like what?

[Yeah, he missed some stuff.]

Sora. He.. [ how do i put this delicately. ] He looks like someone I know. Really similar, actually.

Sora looks like someone else?

[He guesses it doesn't make any less sense than their own unexplained facial similarity, but then, Roxas' life has always been strange to begin with. Sora at least started out as a regular person.]

Who?

[ He nods, avoiding looking at Roxas as he hesitates for a moment before speaking, eyebrows furrowing together as his mouth sets into a frown. ]

He looks like Vanitas.

[!!! ...wait. ]

Who?

You've met him. On the thingy. The one that talks. [ Ventus is the master of eloquence. ] He's from where I'm from, kinda.

[ He pauses, and his hands clench into fists as he recalls for a brief moment, just what they'd done. ] He's the reason for everything that happened. He and Master Xehanort caused a whole lot of trouble in other worlds, just to start a war. And they almost succeeded.

That guy? [Roxas doesn't entirely understand the rest, though it sounds like bad news. He's stuck on important points, though.]

But...he's a jerk.

[ scoffing, he unclenches his hands, opting to fold his arms over his chest instead. ] Tell me about it. I guess that's what happens when you're made of pure darkness?

Woah. That can really happen?

[He slows down his walking and shakes his head.]

Things are different for you back home, huh.

[ he shrugs. ] I guess. What's home like for you?

[He's quiet for a moment. Loaded question, Ven.]

There was no war and no Unversed, but I fought a lot of Heartless in a lot of worlds. They got pretty much everywhere.

[ he notices the silence, but - when roxas speaks, ventus thinks that maybe it's just his imagination. ]

What are "Heartless"?

[It'd be hard to explain them in a way that makes sense to most people, but if Ventus already knows people made of darkness, maybe he'll understand better.]

Heartless are the darkness from people's hearts, left over after they've lost them. They look like little monsters, most of the time.

Some Unversed look like little monsters, too. Not all of them, though. They got everywhere too, but Vanitas did that on purpose. [ His hands join together behind his head, and he kicks at a rock as he walks. ]

"Heartless", huh. [ an accurate description of vanitas tbh ] They caused a lot of trouble, I bet.

They could be pretty troublesome. It was kind of my job to take care of them. Some were pretty tough.

[ Ventus watches it fly briefly before skipping on the ground and away from the two of them. He sure taught that rock. ]

No kidding. You had a job like that? Doesn't sound fun.

It wasn't. I quit eventually, though.

[Not because of the work...but that was a much longer story.]

It's okay, though. There's always someone who makes sure that they don't hurt people.

Oh. [ nod. ] You got another job now?

Yeah, me and Sora make deliveries for people. It's a lot better.
