[ the video just starts off with a feed of a peaceful scene with white fluffy clouds, a blue sky, and a quiet humming in the background. there's some sounds of movement and the camera angle becomes all skewed and eventually the device falls to the ground revealing one Kururu standing on the very tips of the ledge of a roof. ]

It must be nice to be able to fly.

[ it's not that he doesn't like the suggestion, he's just very surprised! ]

Um... I'm...not sure. B, but it's tallest building in the City as far as I can see!

Alright... [ voice trailing and she looks over to the side ] U, um what counts as "stupid"?

How do you not know what counts as 'stupid'?

[ speeeeeding up a bit because he is kind of really concerned about this girl now. ]

W, well... I, it's more like... [ she fumbles with words and fidgets uncomfortably ]

Th, there are a lot of things that could be...stupid. Depending on how you looked at things.

So then don't do any of them!

[ his world is still, to some extent, rather black and white. ]

O, okay then.

[ so just just stands here rocking back and forth on her heels ]

[ it's only a few minutes later that Elliot skids to a halt in front of said building, and cranes his neck up to stare ]

You're still up there?

[ she's tempted to look down for him when she sees him looking up... figuring that could be more dangerous, she kneels down on and over the ledge and looks down to see if she can spot him.

so much for not doing anything stupid ]

Yes, I am... Can you see me from up here..?

[ she looks to still be okay, which is a relief. he'd been hoping that she would have gotten off the damn roof already, but it doesn't seem like that's the case. ]

Of course I can see you. There aren't any other buildings with blonde girls standing at the stop.

[ now, what to do next.... ]

How'd you even get up there? Stairs?

Really..? [ for some reason, she finds this to be rather surprising... not sure exactly why but, she does. ]

U, um... [ she looks away for a moment--thinking--and leans a little too far off of the edge for most people's comfort ] I... I think so. O, or well there's an elevator for most of it.

[ dfaljdsf!! ]

--Don't move!

[ and then he's frantically dashing inside and sprinting up the stairs - screw elevators - and dammit she better still be there when he bursts through that final door--

--and she is, and all he can do is bend over, huffing and exhausting. ]

Don't... [ huff huff ] ...do this... [ pant ] ...again.

[ she almost falls over when he tells her not to move all of a sudden, but she keeps her balance on the edge... her knees were really sore by the time he showed up huffing and puffing as she remained kneeling the entire time.

she looks over her shoulder in order to speak to him. her guilt gnaws at her when she sees how tired he is ]

I... I'm sorry.

[ and Elliot feels a twinge of guilt himself when he sees the guilt on her own face. he waves a hand, trying to brush it all off. ]

Just don't do it again. [ It's another minute before he's mostly back to normal, at which point he takes the moment to glance up at the sky, which does actually seem a lot clearer up here. ]

....Huh. Things do look different up here.

I won't... [ getting off and away from the edge and making her way over to him, looking up at the sky ]

Doesn't it? [ she smiles a bit dreamily ] It's like...w, we're almost in it.

[ for once, he doesn't make some snide remark - at least, not immediately - and stares up at the sky instead.

the moment of peace is over pretty quickly though ]

Too bad people keep building things and blocking it out. It's not something you get to see if you're a big city anymore.

Y, yeah... you really can't see too much of anything anymore. [ her voice trails off a bit before she perks up suddenly ]

B, but that's why you have to cherish what you can, right? If you don't...then you'll miss everything.

[ he's quiet, her words hitting something inside of him that's a little more sensitive than he cares to admit. he doesn't speak right away, and when he does, his voice is quiet and subdued. ]

....Yeah. Everything.

[ he misses a lot of things right now. ]

So are you going to stay up here all day then?

[ his hushed tone immediately gets her attention and she takes a few steps closer to him, a bit curious. her ears are unconsciously straining to see if she could pick up any cues ]

I, I am... [ a beat ] Is there a reason why you're sad?

[ his automatic reaction is to turn and glare, snap out a lie that he isn't sad and why doesn't she keep her mouth shut. but he's done so much yelling this afternoon already. ]

It doesn't matter. It's not important here.

[ after all, he can't do anything for what's left of his family, nt when he's here. ]

Do you have family here?

[ she really doesn't believe him when he says that but she's also not the type to prod unless it's a life-or-death type situation, so she leaves it.

instead she looks back to the sky and lets the wind tousle her hair a bit more ]

Sort of. They're...not family by blood b, but I guess they see me as one of them.

[ He glances over at her, curious. ]

And you trust them completely?
