[It takes a moment or two for the usual scatterings of detritus and snow to clear from the video--no real snow this time, fortunately. But it's difficult to see, still--or perhaps that's just as usual. The device is on the saddle again, hanging, and watching.

Oddly, though, there's a view of the City from within the City this time, complete with tall buildings and pedestrians and things happening and City stuff, all recorded from the shoulder of a horse.

Familiar recording situation. Must mean that this device belongs to Our Man.

However, the horse's owner, Our Man, doesn't seem to be in view. Not yet at least. He's...elsewhere...

...and after a moment, he reappears, in view of the camera and, putting his usual cigarillo back in his mouth, one can see...]



[...and--wait, was that just a girlish giggle? Some quite feminine chatter? It seems it was. And so it seems not everyone is exactly bothered by this curse. (At least, not for the moment.)

There's a moment's pause as his eyes follow something or someone out of sight of the camera as she (we can be fairly sure it was a "she") walks off down the street again.

It's only then that he casts a glance back to the horse and the saddle and the Network device and--wait, the device is on? Yup. As ever.

He gives it a Look (for whatever that'll do for it) and snaps it shut again, cutting off the recording and replacing that wintertime snow with the more electronic kind as the video dies off into the darkness with a--]

[ooc: Kind of large but safe-for-work animated gif under the cut. So the cowboy came into the City proper because, apparently, he has amazing timing and needed to come into the City proper today. So if you want to encounter him and his horse today, you may certainly do so~ Just...try not to kiss the horse. What was his victory? Maybe there wasn't a victory at all and he just wanted a kiss. Or maybe it was the girl who was victorious and, well, I envy her celebration.]

[Somehow, experience should've taught Sophie to avoid leaving the house on days like these, especially when the outcome was more dangerous than a hug, but - well - she'd already kissed practically everyone in the house, and for some reason she thought maybe she could avoid that if she avoided company.

Even if that meant taking a quick detour to pick some flowers and fabric from the store. Even if it meant overbuying, out of stress, and not seeing where she was headed.]

I did not expect to almost walk into a horse today.

[While letting the dogs run to their heart's content, Sif cannot help but notice the familiar face on a very fine specimen of a horse. As they're taking a break, or seem to be, she finds it an appropiate time to comment it.]

[Fortunate, indeed. Horse isn't too keen on them, but he'll be all right, even if he does keep his eye on them a bit.]

Blushing and giggling, the girl floats away. She knows it wouldn't last -- couldn't last, even if it hadn't been a curse. The sailor's wife is the sea, and the cowboy's mistress is the open plain. But she'll hold a hand to her lips, which taste of salt and smoke, and think to herself: It was worth it.
