Found himself drenched from head to foot in dirty street water. With a small wipe of his face to remove stray droplets of water, he smiled at the stunned lady and kissed her cheek, blushing all the while. He's being so forward! Liam can't get much more celebratory then that. He's Victorian.

"I'm glad you're safe, ma'am."

And with a press of his fingers against his glasses to keep them from slipping, he skipped continued on down the road. Even if he was still drenched.

[ And as Liam rounds the corner, he'll be meeting with a familiar face. Familiar as in back home familiar, not familiar from his previous stay familiar. But you already know this.

Also he will be carrying a stack of books. The stack is slightly shorter than his usual load of books, but only because he was recently injured and it is good not to strain oneself.

He is probably going about this the wrong way.

But then again, it's an old habit of his, and one that Elliot would question if he didn't continue, and he quite likes the escapism of reading, so it really is nice.

At least he can see over his stack of books well enough to stop before he bumps into Liam. We can only hope Liam is so skilled...and observant. ]

[ oh, but we know he doesn't. No indeed because he's blushing red as a tomato and clutching at his chest and his knees are going weak and he's practically ready to fall on the ground. Which is exactly what he does when he trips on a crack.

[ Unfortunately, that is what they are. A stack of library books, about half of which have now been knocked from his arms. Luckily, they don't seem to be damaged, just slightly dirtied (because he's checking on them before he is Liam, brushing them off.

For a moment, as he turns to Liam, there's the traces of something resembling anger, frustration, on his face-- lips pressed into a thin line. But he knows that Liam was here with Elliot when he was not, and that is almost, almost enough.

Calmly, measured, and smiling: ]

You really should be more careful, Mister Liam.

[ no worries, no worries. Liam is used to the abuse of being ignored in favor of far more important matters such as books. It does take the sting off a little, that they're so well cared for. He has a soft spot for them after all. ]

I... I'll do my best. [ he sits up and cleans off his glasses, spatters of mud speckled all across them. it's amazing he still has a semi clean spot on his handkerchief. Oh, but... wait! ]

Do you need help with those books? [ he quickly shoves his glasses back on his face and scrambles to pick-up the one or two still within his reach. ]
