Yeah, that one. [It's Lena's voice, coming in slightly muffled. Her phone's in her back pocket and it's turned on, but the only thing that can be seen is darkness. An NPC tells her the total, and there's the sound of coins clinking in a jar.]

Oh, you get a free doughnut with your coffee if you donate to our local charity.

I do? That is so cool! [She lets out a cheer and a moment later, there's a yelp of pain.] Oh, no! I-I'm sorry, I forgot. Are you okay?

Yeah, just, uh... here's your doughnut.

Thanks, sorry again. [The phone is finally moved out into the open as Lena takes it out to sit down at a table in the cafe. She sees it's recording and she rolls her eyes.] Maybe I should go back to the apartment. This curse is going to be worse for other people than for me. [A pause.] Not that I want to kiss strangers, but at least I don't get hurt by it.

[ooc: So here's the deal! Casters and Mortals can't touch without it hurting the Mortal, aka Human. So if Lena touches your character, they get the feeling of warmth coupled with a slight electric shock, that increases the longer they're in contact with her. (If they're not human, well, IDK if it'll affect them.) Have your character come find her in person and they can try to kiss her/see if she'll kiss them!]

[She hesitates, then stops moving her stuff.]

Okay. Just, sit far back in case I think I said something so amazing I need to give you a kiss to celebrate.

[ Grinning as he leans back in his seat and puts his hands in his lap. ]

I can do that.

All right. Well... if you don't mind listening to me whine, here goes.

[She inhales slowly through her nose, releases it, then starts picking at her black nail polish as she speaks.]

It's not that I don't want to be a Caster, because I've always had my powers and it'd be strange not to anymore, but sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to be normal. Be a Mortal. We live among you, and try to blend in, but we're always too weird and people hate us.

And like, even today with this stupid curse, I have to be careful I don't hurt anyone. It's always that way. The people who get close to me get hurt, and I don't mean from just my touch.

You are actually the least weird person I know, so. [ So he doesn't understand how anyone could hate her, exactly. She's been nothing but nice to him since he got here.

But he understands the second feeling pretty well himself. ] You can't blame yourself for that kind of stuff.

[Her eyebrows lift and she smiles widely, pressing her palms on the table and leaning towards him, ready to kiss him for that compliment.

It'll take her a second to realize what she's doing.]

[ Stiles ducks down at the last minute with a grin, gaze lifting to her. ] We don't want you feeling bad, right?

Oh! Oh, no!

[She plops back down in her seat, covering her face with her hands for a moment before peeking out through her fingers and speaking. It comes out muffled behind the hands.]

This is hard to control. I didn't even know I was doing it.

[She drops the hands, shaking her head.]

[ Smiling at her. ]

Hey, not your fault. Curses are weird, right? You can't be blamed for that.

Yeah, they're definitely weird, all right.

[She shakes her head a little.]

I'm still new to the whole being cursed thing.

It's easier if you don't realize the curse is happening and only realize it later. Of course then it's super embarrassing, but it fades. People forget.

I guess with it happening to pretty much everyone it's easier not to be grudgey?

Pretty much, yeah.

And hey, right now I'm the only one from my world so there's nobody to hold my dumbassness against me.

I try to rise above it and not let them get to me, but sometimes even I snap. That's when being a Caster comes in handy.

[She smiles knowingly.]

I couldn't take on a single one of my friends and that's depressing.

Yes and no. I mean Scott's my best friend and he's still a little bit of a douche. And everyone else I know? Yep, completely.

And you're sure you're douche-free yourself? I mean, if you hang out with nothing but douches...

[She lets the rest be implied.]

Well, the Jury's out, right? But I try not to be as big an asshole as a lot of the people I know are. I mean Jackson practically relishes in it.
