So I'm not talking in lists anymore, and needless to say I never want to see another list again. I'm even giving up grocery lists. Shopping will become a whimsical affair from now on. I'm sure nothing wrong could come out of that! [Sarcasm.]

Oh, well - [She taps the jasmine scented bottle with a finger.] I'd have to go with jasmine. Not that there's anything wrong with rose, per se, but it's a bit too Valentine's Day for my tastes. Jasmine helps relax a little more, without choking you with an extra strong scent.

[Of course, Mae spots him when he walks in, although he seems distracted - is he brooding? she can't tell, honestly - so he doesn't wave hello. Therefore, she does what seems totally and completely logical of her to do on a day when everyone keeps kissing her.

She walks over. And just on cue, too.] Hey, Tinkerbell. Here, this one. [She reaches out for a bottle of bubblegum scented bubble bath.] Smells like fairy dust. Just like home, right?

[ He snorts, takes the bottle off her and smells it. Nose wrinkling. ] Who told you about Neverland and how did you get in? [ Because two can play at this game, thank you very much. ] If you're flirting with Pan, I am totally out. Nobody likes a guy in tights.

[Carla will never admit it out loud, but the reason she dislikes jewelry is because she prefers perfume, ten to one. (Hers is dark: myrrh and patchouli and cacao, only the faintest touch of lavender.) She generally prefers not to go into stores like this, however, as she has a strong sense of smell, especially left over from her days as a Reanimate, who hunted by smell more than sight. Quite a few curses ago, when everyone was absolutely reeking of perfumes, it had overwhelmed her entirely and left her vomiting.

Maybe that's why she just taps on the window and waits outside.]

[Carla comes, as usually, at the right timing. No clients, slow moment of the day; it makes it easy for Mae to slip out, even if it's for a second and to stretch her legs.]

[Luxury bath supply stores aren't Chase's natural habitat (he has a standing order for his hair products, okay), but a man has to eat and the grocery store at the end of the street also happens to be on his way home. One of those little pieces of grocery lore - like the pumping in of eau de fresh bread to encourage sales - is that men buy flashy, buy expensive, and buy quickly, usually from the higher shelves. Thus it is that Chase is ignoring the lower racks of bargains, reaching up to examine a new 'authentic italian' pasta sauce range, each promising the 'best taste ever']

[Whimsy! That's what she's decided on for this grocery shopping experience. It's not as if, cooking classes or not, she'll end up cooking herself anything other than a quick sandwich or pasta for dinner; that's the benefit of working the evening shift, possibly, that she takes lunch out. It's generally more agreeable with her, too. So, these groceries - a jar of jam, a pack of rice, stockings on discount, tomatoes and butter - pure whimsy. All that's left now is the actual pasta.
